We had 3 nights here, a great place. A superb atmosphere, almost olde world. A lovely log fire roaring in the lounge area, dark wood furniture, a kind of hunting lodge. You are offered pre dinner drinks around 7.30pm before going into the dining room for the evening meal. You can join other people on a long table which we...

Spent a very memorable evening at Lairds Lodge while doing a road trip down the Garden Route - and it was such a treat. Every staff member is a host and the perfect one at that. On arrival we were met at our car. Miraculously they knew who I was and where I was from and walked us to our...

We spent couple nights here, very nice place; good breakfast and dinners. Unfortunately in our room there was a bit musty smell which turned out to be coming from wet carpet in front of the French doors - the manager Zayn did look into it and also offered us to change room but as the source was only discovered night...

Unlike many hotels or guesthouses, the great staff here really love and know their jobs. As a result there is a relaxed constant inter-action which makes the stay so interesting. In the evening, honeymooners may sit at their own tables, but the fun is to sit on the long wooden table with other guests, and chat. The rooms, the food,...

Having recently stayed at a Richard Branson owned hotel for the first time, we thought we knew what seamless discrete service was...this beautiful lodge showed us even better. The weather when we stayed at Laird's Lodge was awful, bar none it was the worst weather we experienced in our 2 & 1/2 weeks in South Africa, but we couldn't have...

We spent 3 nights at the Lairds Lodge and were absolutely delighted with every aspect of our stay. The location, the rooms and the service impeccable. We had breakfast included in our rate and also spent two evenings together with other guest and had dinner and the food was very good. All in all - an excellent stay and we...

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on a Garden Route tour. It was a rather quirky sort of place and appeared to be a bit disorganised. Actually I think the staff did all know what they were doing they just didn't communicate it too well to the guests. Room was very large and comfortable. Loads or wardrobes and a...

This place and Stellenbosch was the highlight of our South African adventure. It's a fabulous hotel and the concept with the communal dinning in the evening was excellent. Breakfast could be a more private setting. But at dinner, we went for the big table to enjoy the company of the other touring guests. The Hotel itself has all the classic,...

This hotel ranked high on our list. Our room was behind the main building & it had high quality furnishings. The food was to die for. It made such a change to get something a bit different to a regular cooked breakfast like French toast topped with banana & cheese. At breakfast, one member of staff would ask what our intentions...
