Good Value for Money, when we come back we'll stay with Buller's Rest Lodge. The room we've got under the roof was big, well equiped and clean. The "bullers" bar in the main area is a like a small historical museum of the war between the dutch and the britain end of 19th century. Very interesting while having a drink!

We stopped one night in Ladysmith, one our way to the Drakensbergen. This place was a real superprise: great room, great garden, great view and even a small boer war museum. The owner was really helpful, also getting us some food when everything was closed on Jan 1st. We loved our stay here.

On my arrival I was told that I was "upgraded". The only upgrade was from room 10, which I booked to a room upstairs. After communicating my displeasure I was offered free dinner which was, coming paytime, not honored. Not a nice experience and you are expected to, at the age of 64, climb those stairs to your room.

Not to much to say about the lodge. The staff super friendly, the rooms very clean, so it was a very pleasant experience overall. It was our first stay over in Ladysmith so not sure of other places, but would recommend this lodge.

A great place to stay in Ladysmith. Just out of town, up on the hill, so very convenient (about 5 minutes from the centre of town). Spotlessly clean, comfortable guest bedrooms, dinner available in the evening (very good), honesty bar for guests, great decks for sitting out on. Fabulous staff - efficient, friendly, helpful. Graham (manager) is especially helpful. Safe...
