Sometimes everything seems just right. Les Marguerites in the idyllically peaceful village of Alet les Bains with its ruined priory, is the perfect setting for a break that offers beauty and calm by the rushing river Aude. This is not a place for adrenalin seekers, nor a corporate institution that feels the need to pander to everyones' special whims. Les...

What an amazing mini break I've just had at Les Marguerites. Arrived stressed & a bit of a wreck but left refreshed & energised. Antoinette & Keith are both charming and gracious hosts - can't do enough for their guests. Room was large & v comfortable & en suite had a bath & a shower. Enjoyed mornings visiting Carcassonne &...

Our second visit to Antoinette & Keith, and hopefully not our last. First discovered this gem of a place as we travelled through the area last year. So good we came back for a longer, calmer and thoroughly relaxed stay this year. The warmest of welcomes always awaits. The rooms are beautiful and the bed was so very comfortable, best...

This was out first stay at Les Marguerites and I can honestly say in all of our travels world wide that from the moment we arrived and were greeted by Antoinette and Keith to our leaving we have never been made to feel more welcome or at home . Nothing was ever too much trouble. The bedrooms , tastefully furnished,...

We're already fans of this part of France, but five days at Les Marguerites has multiplied our love for Alet les Bains. Staying with Antoinette, Keith and family in their wonderful home was like spending time with good old friends. We enjoyed such a warm welcome and felt so at home - the house affords space and privacy and the...

This place is consistently excellent and now like coming home, from the deliciously comfortable beds and beautiful rooms, to the wonderful food and hospitality of Antoinette and Keith. There are so many places to visit and this time we visited the market in Esperaza and the Gorge de Galamus. The area has so much to offer and seeing it in...

We absolutely love this area and each time we visit we always stay at les Marguerites. It is a haven of peace and tranquility. Not only in its setting but also in the amazing space that both Antionette & Keith hold for you whilst you stay in their home. I always, always recommend this place to all of my friends...

Yet another visit to this sanctuary of peace, calm, tranquility, and excellence. Seldom do I find such a consistently good place to stay - the welcome from the family is always warm, the food excellent and the setting tranquil. They now do tea and home made cakes in the summer months - a tea garden; and, I am told, prepare...

On weekends during the summer Antoinette opens her peaceful garden for afternoon teas with delicious cakes. She is a lovely host and her fruit cake (based on her grandmother's recipe) is really moist. She can advise about the area and should you wish to stay she has beautiful bedrooms too.

Antoinette & Keith are the heart of this wonderfully restored 200-year old mansion, make no doubt about it! They are by far the warmest hosts you'll ever find. Thank you both for creating this warm, loving environment for us! Loved my room, loved the location, loved your family, loved your meals (both food & company!), loved all of it!! It...
