Detailed Reviews
We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights.
Overall, we 've stayed several times in 4 star hotels at other locations, the level at Réunion seems to be lower anyhow.
Compared to other hotels in la Réunion, Palm Hotel seemed to be the better one: better maintained, more stylish, more service from the staff.
We received an upgrade to a junior suite, which was a really pleasant surprise as it came with a hottub outside, an extra room/bed and an outside shower.
Definitely, this contributed to the positive overall experience.
The hotel is beautifully located, although no direct access to the beach below.
For the brave, there is an adventurous path downhill (and back up again afterwards) which I did two times. Not to try if you have no proper shoes nor long pants!
But if you do this, you can continue to hike up to the "cap" which delivers magnificent views and I definitely recommend.
When we booked this hotel, a shuttle service was posted, although i didnt see it.
Staying here we opted for the half board, which we wouldnt do again if we would have known.
Personally, we dont have to fine dine "french cuisine" every day, we would have rather opted for a light salad or something.
This was our main challenge at this hotel: lunch as well as dinner offered very few "light" options, basically there were almost no salads or a light pasta on neither menus.
The only option for lunch or light dinner that remained were the tapas (they were very good!).
We missed truly, during our entire trip at Reunion, "light" dishes with vegetables.
So my recommendation would be Palm hotel to think about offering for lunch and dinner some international, "summery" dishes also, for those not interested in duck, foie gras, fish or beef on a daily basis.
Dont misunderstand me, the food was good, it was just too heavy for our way of living.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your positive feedback on your recent stay at The Palm hotel. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay, especially your junior suite and the magnificient view that we are lucky to have. We stayed in a Pool Lodge room at the Palm for two weeks as part of our honeymoon, and we couldn't have picked a better spot. The room itself was absolutely incredible (the photos don't do it justice), we loved the on-site bar and restaurant and the bell that would sound every time a passing whale was visible from the observation deck, and Grand Anse beach (which turned out to be our favorite one on the island) was only a quick 10-minute walk from the property.
Everyone at the hotel, from the front desk staff and the concierge team to the restaurant staff, spa staff, and housekeeping staff, were wonderful, and went out of their way to make sure that we had a comfortable and relaxing stay, even with our minimal French. We'll definitely be staying here again the next time that we're in Réunion.

Spend seven nights in the Palm Hotel and Spa in late December. From the arrival we enjoyed every moment in this fantastic environment. Had the chance to stay in two different kind of rooms - a junior suite and a lodge - and both were very impressive. Size of the rooms, design and facilities exceeded our expectations. The hotel is located some 200 meters above the bay and offers spectacular views, especially for the sun set. The employees were very friendly and always very helpful. The attention was perfect and very personal. The pool is nice with a great sea view and although the hotel was fully booked, there was always enough space to relax in a quite environment. Last but not least, the restaurant deserves a special comment. Food is excellent and offers great international/French cuisine with local ingredients and tastes. If there is anything that could be further improved, than we would have wished a bigger variety of fresh local fruits, considering the great choice of fruits available on the island. My wife also enjoyed the nice spa. Altogether - a great five star hotel with a very personal touch.

+1
A truly miserable and disappointing experience from check in to check out. After 9.30pm the only room service is a fruit or cold cut plate (until 11pm)… we found this out as we arrived after a long flight at 10pm. Both restaurants are fine dining with limited menus unless you want bar snacks. Poor service at lunch. Bread thrown at the table as waitress walked past. No side plates given, butter, salt and pepper, etc. Starter was not as ordered… waited over 20 mins for our plates to be cleared and not asked if everything was ok despite leaving nearly the whole dish. Our waitress barely looked at us or our table… we constantly felt like an inconvenience to the staff. Bedroom was ok size but furniture was oddly placed. Comfy bed. Toiletries were non-existent. 2 sad pumps in the shower and one over the sink. Lacked any kind of atmosphere which was impressive given the hotel was fully booked. Pool area was small but had comfy loungers. No service - if you want a drink you had to go to the bar yourself to get it. Access to the beach if you’re feeling adventurous and an accomplished rock climber. Building works next to our room which we weren’t made aware of or an offer to change our room. Limited English speaking staff which resulted in quite a few miscommunications ie coke instead of Diet Coke (which turned out they didn’t have anyway). Mini bar was a joke. One 500 ml bottle of water complimentary in the room (250ml each). Balcony without a view. Called to let them know we’d be checking out 2 days early… first thing they said was not “is everything ok” it was, “you’ve already paid”. 5€ for an ice bucket!! Grounds mostly well maintained but needed more regular cleaning. Over an hour from Roland garros airport (the local airport close to the hotel is for domestic flights only) and 165€ each way. Over priced, pretentious and a waste of 3 days holiday.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your review following your stay at the Palm hotel. I was deeply concerned to read your review and see that your stay was far less than satisfactory. As you can see from other traveller reviews, this certainly isn't the usual experience our guests enjoy when staying with us. At the Palm hotel we take all guests comments and feedback very seriously, so you can be assured that your comments will be fully investigated and discussed with the hotel team in order that we learn and improve. I sincerely hope to welcome you back amongst, whereby we shall have the opportunity to change your perception of our hotel. Kind regards, Patrice Peta, General Manager.

We spent 3 nights in a Deluxe room with breakfast.
Unlike other 5-star hotels in Reunion, the rooms and the establishment in general are well maintained and regular investments are made to keep the rooms in good condition.
The deluxe rooms on the ground floor are particularly dark so we asked to change to a room on the first floor. Please note that the suites are under renovation and some Deluxe rooms have a view of the rooms under construction.
The hotel is very pleasant, on a human scale and ideal for couples.
The strong points of the hotel are the service (friendly, systematically in the search for solutions, fast and efficient) and the restaurant (perfect breakfast, dinner dishes and deserts of very good quality but with a price well above the others hotels on the island). The rooms are spacious and clean with a downside on the decoration. The bathrooms are also spacious with a large walk-in shower.
The points to improve are primarily the decoration and the lack of light in the deluxe rooms. The rooms on the ground floor are really very dark and borderline oppressive. It's a little better on the 1st floor but the rooms are "overloaded" with dark furniture whose style gives an old-fashioned style to the rooms. For example, the 2 large wardrobes on each side of the bed are useless and should be replaced by low nightstands. The rug at the entrance to the room and the large vase containing the umbrella should be outside the room, not inside. The toilets are really too low, it looks like they are intended for young children. Finally, the presence of ants in the bathroom and the rest of the room should be better managed.
The other points of detail concern the bar and the quality of the cocktails (margarita, mojito) which was just acceptable (obviously no experience with the margarita and the mojito which was too bitter because of the lemons used). At 15 euros a cocktail, we have the right to expect much better.
And finally the gym which was not clean (the black stretching mats must never have been washed) and there must be a water leak because the floor was soaked under these same mats.
In conclusion, the hotel has strong potential but leaves a feeling of average quality/price ratio given the "quality" of the rooms and the price paid for these rooms, meals and cocktails.

the Palm had become MY Number 1 Pension in Réunion again but... it didn’t last!
I was happy to show it to my two friends with whom I came for 2 nights in suite with jacuzzi.
As soon as you arrive in the room, a cata!
Ants and hair full the bed, hair full the carpet, tufts of hair all over the room and another tuft by the Jacuzzi.
We called the front desk with our own phone, there were none in the room because I quote “there are connection problems since the renovation”.
A team came to redo the room and during this time we waited on the terrace. Very awkward moment and more us and for the team.
Then it was still necessary to wait for someone to come for the ants.
1h30 later, we were about to finally enjoy the Jacuzzi and there, new surprise.
Jacuzzi for 3 with only functional nozzles for 1 person.
New call to reception, new intervention of a technician this time.
He explains that the adjustments are made in this way, that nozzles 2 and 3 are disabled and that they all work only in lodges.
Another surprise: the hot tubs are now disabled between 11pm and 8am and as there is no protection to keep the temperature to a minimum, the water is cold the next day and the hot tub is not usable until 11am at best.
Our stay took place just after the reopening following the renovation/extension and frankly we expected better.
The shower was dirty, a big dirt stain on the bed base guard, wavy and moldy coasters in the bathroom, no shower gel in a dispenser, the toilet door damaged and pushed in...
Regardless of the Award of the room, cleanliness is a basic element in hotels and at 550€ per night, we owe even more to be impeccable.
I would like to stop there but unfortunately there are a few words to say about breakfast. There is a very large choice and it is of quality. On the other hand, it is really painful to suffer the untimely attacks of birds that come to peck on the plates (not to mention the lack of hygiene with the droppings on the chairs).
In addition, it would therefore be good to specify to customers that they must present themselves before 9:30 to be able to take full advantage of what is offered.
Indeed, the arrival deadline is not 10am as indicated since at 10:01am, the staff removes ALL cutlery that allows you to serve yourself.
In summary, I would say that the Palm was better before. Redoing the exteriors is good but ensuring the quality of the rooms is better. You cannot post on your website that you are “reinventing luxury hotels” when you multiply such missteps!
All these points were obviously reported at the reception, certainly staff intervened but all this marred our stay and especially wasted our time. To apologize for all these inconveniences, we had a note and 3 pareos placed on our bed the second evening. Beautiful!

We just spent two days / 1 night at the Palm.
We were very well received by a staff with little care.
The exteriors are beautiful and well maintained.
I had chosen a deluxe room on the occasion of my spouse s birthday.
The room allocated to us is located on the ground floor of a bungalow facing a staircase, unlike the photos presented at the time of booking on the Palm website (upstairs , which had motivated my choice ), very close to the busy road, at the end of the property, with a view of the stairs (Not very romantic for a deluxe room). We could not enjoy the outdoors because of the noise of cars and motorcycles.
Moreover, the air conditioning in the room, which we could not turn off, despite the "off" of the remote control, embarrassed us, which forced us to sleep with earplugs. It remains in operation, even when the windows are open .....
We didn't have more luck with Massakar restaurant which served us undercooked lobsters , and an erroneous addition, no match for a gourmet restaurant.
The restaurant staff was annoyed , and remained very courteous. We were still very disappointed again.
The reception remained marble.
We ended our stay with an excellent breakfast and lunch at the restaurant KAH.We enjoyed an excellent lentil salad and could notice that the price of grilled lobster was much cheaper than that of Massakar....
It's a shame, I think we will not repeat the experience at this hotel.

Perfect stay!
5* service from start to finish, both at the reception/reception level, at the bar, in the restaurant or in the room.
Very nice room, we had been upgraded to a superior room. Very neat decoration, impeccable cleanliness. Equipment provided, towels and bathrobes available, Nespresso coffee machine in the room with capsules offered and renewed.
Two well maintained swimming pools, one of which is heated, very well maintained outdoor areas also.
Bar and restaurants very well also. Breakfast very complete with wide choice savory (including the possibility of having eggs cooked minutes) and sweet.
No negative for us, we will gladly return.

Our 10-night stay at the Palm more than lived up to our expectations. Present but always discreet attention from the Pension staff. A concierge attentive and with good plans, thank you Delphine. A restaurant that each night awakened our taste buds and offered us multiple local flavors, thanks to Chef Pothin and Pastry Chef. A treat. The exceptional wine list to enhance our meals. An idyllic setting with multiple spaces that allow you to isolate yourself and enjoy the spectacle of the Ocean. And a Spa to enjoy massages, cut off from the world in a zen atmosphere to the sound of water and birds.
Every exchange with the staff was a slap in the face of kindness and kindness. It was a real pleasure.
In short, we recommend 200% the Palm and have only one desire, return as soon as possible.

+1
Second stay at the Palm where we were able to appreciate all the infrastructures (the 2 restaurants, the bar, the spa and without forgetting the pool lodge 🥰).
As soon as you enter the parking lot, you can already feel the kindness and professionalism of the staff.
Where to start, the welcome is perfect and they take great care of you.
The à la carte restaurant Makassar is excellent for the taste buds with the possibility of a buffet-style weekend formula with live cooking.
The ideal bar for an aperitif.
The kah restaurant, beach atmosphere, relaxed foot in the sand, service and pleasant food.
The spa is very welcoming, beautiful establishment and good massage.
The pool lodge is just perfect, magnificent, splendid, hard to do better I think.
But what stands out about this stay is the always attentive, very professional staff, efficient all while having a chic and zen side at the same time.
Well done 👏

Yes to the towels and I am sure yes to hairdryer but can't be certain.
Hello,
No kids club at the Palm hotel but during the local holidays we offer children's activities (like cooking classes, gardening workshops, treasure hunts...) in addition to our two pools, our games room, etc.
We are looking forward to your visit !
Patrice Peta, general manager.
This beachs has a natural swimming area which is very good for snorkeling as this is free of sharks.
