We chose Ibbani Homestay Siddapur based on the reviews on this page. The location is perfect for visiting Jog falls which is hardly a 25-minute drive. We had booked three double rooms in the main house. The rooms were very comfortable with clean linens and towels. The host family was very friendly and we had a wonderful time chatting with them. Mr. Gurudutt and his two assistants took good care of us. We enjoyed the home-cooked breakfast and dinner (Malnad style vegetarian food). The view of the paddy field from the common area was beautiful and in the early morning, we saw peacocks and other birds (see photos). There are several hundred areca nut trees and a few coconut trees on this property. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you are visiting Jog Falls or nearby areas.
Well to be precise we stayed at Misty (homestay) booked thru Airbnb...It’s a part of Ibbani homestay located inside same campus (arecanut estate) deeper into having lush green paddy fields to refresh ur tiredness of driving thru those treacherous narrow roads & maneuvering the hillock with thick foliage.. We were traveling from Mangalore to Bellary in between we planned a overnight break at Siddapur. Misty Homestay is with 2 rooms (independent entrance but common portico) in the middle of a arecanut estate. Some information to share as one leaves the Mangalore/Pune highway you will enter the green patch of Western ghat & forest area , no matter how many mobiles you carry with different service providers network stops completely even my inbuilt GPS stopped with KIA UVO. The single road was quite tricky to push my pedal to reach destination before sun set.. Since non Kannadiga, the 100km cross over stretch was straining in peak afternoon for self driven trip.. without knowing the route is right or wrong as hardly any village or people or moving vehicle was seen. The place (room) was maintained Clean as per Airbnb standards.. Hospitality by caretaker / owner Mr. Guru was of the highest standard.. Local cuisine was offered for dinner which was very good.. If entering from Mangalore side u will cross Jog Fall entry point and this place is 16kms away from it. One can visit if gates r open .. entry ticket For a couple felt little bored as no TV but WIFI was shared by owner. Homestay service with a caretaker in situ will fulfill your needs. Overall stay was comfortable but not exiting.. but definitely if bigger family with kids nice place .. Option of other type of food is recommended to owner if the stay is more than 1 day…
Perfect place to holiday away from hustle and bustle of city life amidst farm.. gurudutt and family make sure that the guests feel at home and special.from bed linen to corridors everything is sparkling clean. The showstopper is the bonfire and authentic homemade food served on banana leaves and mostly prepared from harvest of their farm. The spectacular peacocks appear in morning in front of your cottage to add to the beauty of the place ... 5 stars to this place ... !!
