Nestled in a picturesque setting with lush gardens, Radisson Blu St. Helen's Hotel in Dublin is celebrated for its prime location and charming atmosphere, complete with elegant decorations and fireplaces that captivate guests. While the rooms are comfortable, some visitors have noted issues with air conditioning and dated decor. Stayed here over the August Bank holiday weekend and enjoyed it so much we extended our stay by 3 days.

The location is superb for a relaxing break being surrounded by the most beautiful well maintained gardens and wooded area. It feels like country and yet we were in Stephens Green in 12 minutes and Dun Laoghaire in 20 mins. There were hand sanitizers all over the hotel at elevator entry, inside the main doors and we felt it was a very safe environment.

The brilliant thing about returning to St Helens is the warm and heartfelt welcome from Stefan and the team at reception. They are always so helpful, attentive and courteous.

While breakfast was busy each morning we enjoyed the novelty of being able to eat outside and the buffet has an excellent selection. The breakfast team were very friendly, helpful and efficient.

The best recommendation we can make is that we will definitely be returning before the end of the Summer for another escape to a truly relaxing environment with such a super team. The team deserve great praise under the current restrictions.

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and daughter recently and what a fabulous hotel. We stayed in a family room which had 2 double beds and I have never before slept in such a comfy bed - it was simply fabulous. Room was adequate with tea/coffee making facilities and bathroom had a bath and shower. Only issue we had was the room was serviced for 2 people and not 3 and the toiletries provided also for 1 person, but that was not a real issue as we had brought our own. A hairdryer and safe is provided and an ironing board with laundry facilities also available. The lounge in this hotel is simply beautiful and as it was the Christmas season was adorned beautifully for Christmas. The grounds are stunning and there is an italian restaurant on site and also bar food which seemed very good. Prices at bar were reasonable and overall we had a very lovely night at this hotel and would definitely return again as a 1st choice place to stay in Dublin.Breakfast is expensive at 12.5 Euro if u book beforehand and 18 Euro if you avail on the morning which is a little expensive, but we did not avail as we were meeting friends for breakfast. Overall a really lovely hotel in beautiful well cared for grounds.

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed a truley magical experience. Everything was perfect from the delicious buffet breakfast, to the kind and brilliant staff who simply couldn't do enough for us. Even during this pandemic the guys here went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for the duration of our stay.

The gardens are spectacular and extremely well kept. They were a joy to walk around after breakfast. The room was spacious and spotless, containing every amenity you could want or need (and one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on). And whilst the wifi can very occasionally dip in speed, the vast majority of the time it was more than fast enough for Netflix and even remote play for PS4!

I'd love to pass on my sincere thanks to the manager and the whole team for making our stay perfectly splendid!

I would 100% recommend this hotel and will certainly be returning in the future.

:D

I stayed with ye on Thursday night the 14th of February .
Firstly the positive things were that the hotel is in a lovely location and looks well.
I had an operation on my eye that day in the Beacon hospital and choice to stay with ye as I felt I could do with a bit of comfort . I was solely disappointed , my eye was in great pain and was informed I'd have to ice it every 45 mins . I'd been informed by a staff member when I enquired about the hotel when booking that each floor had an ice machine , I was delighted with this . To my utter disappointment I discovered that the ice machine on all floors didn't work ,this in a 5 star hotel . My poor wife had to go up and down to the bar every 45 minutes to get ice.
Then we ordered room service at 8.15 and it didn't arrive until 10 and the food was cold ,I was so angry and frustrated , waiting almost 2 hours only for the food to arrive cold , simple not good enough.
The breakfast the next morning wasn't great either .
The staff were excellent but I'm so disappointed with the experience , to say this was 5 stars was far from accurate.

Attended a wedding here and was very underwhelmed at the service and quality of this hotel. The dinner service was extremely poor with everyone being served at different times. The dinner service took hours and some of our table gave up on waiting for dessert and went to the bar (which is located in a different area making the reception very disjointed). The food itself was bland and tasteless. By the time we were served dessert some of the tables were being cleared off and people were walking out to the bar! The bar service was slow and we had to walk for an eternity through winding corridors to get to the wedding reception area. The hotel is lovely from the outside but unfortunately very disappointing from that point on.

Dear Sir/Madam

It is unfortunate that I find myself in the position where this email is necessary.

I booked a suite in your hotel for tonight the 27th of Jan 2020 for one night. Having stayed in a number of similar 5 star hotels in the dublin area in recent times including the Dylan, the Marker, the Westin and the Westbury I have to stay I found the experience to be below par in a number of areas, listed below:

1. On checking into the room, we were met with a blast of artic cold air with the in room heating not working. The two space heaters provided were not enough to make the temperature bearable and were unsuitable for a hotel that bears a 5 star rating especially in a "suite room".

2. The extra large double bed was made with 2 single duvets? Very unusual and meant that my partner and I had to separate covers in the bed.

3. The TV was sluggish, regularly froze and the internet connection was down.

4. The in room dining service was frankly thoroughly disappointing. The steak was tough, asked for medium rare and I received a well done steak. No mushrooms or tomatoes were provided as described in the menu, for 30 euro this was terrible. The "supreme" of chicken was dry, bland and burnt underneath, nothing supreme about it whatsoever. Again the menu said it came with butter beans which it did not. The brownie which was forgotten and had to be asked for twice arrived cold, without the ice cream or chocolate sauce as described.

I haven't even checked out yet but I find myself so frustrated that this email is required. I can only hope the rest of my stay is somewhat improved on this.

While my room was quite large and the bed was comfortable, I had a number of problems with faulty equipment and amenities.
The heater in the first room did not work (the room was freezing cold). After promptly being changed to a second room after requesting this be investigated by reception, I found that the temperature gauge for the shower in the second room was stuck on boiling hot. This was not repaired by maintenance staff during the time I was out of the hotel, despite me having requested at reception for this to be looked at. I would have expected better service.
The hotel is now outdated as it does not appear to have been updated since it was first built (however renovations were taking place on other floors during my stay - there was a distinct smell of paint stripper in the corridors and lobby).

Breakfast is good with plenty of options, as is room service. Dinner at the Talavera could provide more options for people with specific dietary requirements.

Well organized during the pandemic, specially with everyone wearing masks and respecting social distancing , rooms are very clean, staff are very friendly and supportive - the bar food is delicious strongly recommend the Burger with a nice glass of Rioja. The Spanish manager that was looking after us at the bar was very professional and smart recommending us food and drinks. Will return soon!

Wasn’t given much information at reception breakfast or anything. The heating in our room didn’t work, got offered to move rooms or an electric heater we said we didn’t mind aslong as the room was warm as we are not fussy. Got the electric heater only problem is it had to be on constantly to warm the room. The Wifi was not working I was trying to connect my phone to the chrome cast to watch netflix rang reception and was given 10/15 minutes time frame for someone to come up. A male came up 45 minutes and just blamed my phone saying that was the problem even though my partners phone wouldn’t work either. Not very helpful seemed like he just didn’t want to be there.

Booked this hotel as had an appointment in a nearby hospital and on arrival the manager checked us in. As I was travelling with my husband and three year old child I enquired about breakfast and was told that they only do a take away box consisting of water, fruit and a muffin, which would be ok if I had not already paid €8 per person for breakfast. I booked a superior room and requested prior to our arrival that the room had an extra bed for our child, to which I got an email confirming that this would be no problem. When I queried this on check in, the manager said that it was not possible but he would put me in a room with two queen size beds. Turns out he downgraded us from a superior to a standard room. Advertised on the website was coffee maker, bathrobe, slippers, newspaper etc. in the room and when I questioned this he got smart and his reply was that stuff is free in the rooms anyways, which clearly is not the case. When I voiced my dissatisfaction at the service of the hotel his attitude was disgusting and the only response was, did I want to cancel my booking and go elsewhere, which is exactly what I did. I went to a nearby hotel where the restaurant and bar was open and where a full breakfast is served to you at your table, l as you would expect. Will never visit this hotel again.
