Zur Alten Brucke is located in the middle of one of the most charming villages in the Black Forest, famed especially for its many half-timber houses. The hotel is located on a side street facing one of the two rivers that meet in Shiltach, so away from the traffic that runs through the middle of the village. The rooms are...

We returned to Zur Alten Brucke for our 5th visit to find that Michael's assistant had suffered an injury and was in hospital for a few days. Michael acted as host, waiter, chef and receptionist and coped with all of these duties single handed! Despite the pressure, Michael was his usual happy, courteous and helpful self and he is an...

I stayed in this beautiful building, just in front of the Schiltach river, just for two nights but I really enjoyed it. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He is an excellent cook and he will make you taste the typical dishes of the area. We stayed in the flat and it was very big and luminous, with a...

Schiltach is a beautiful little town in the Black Forest and we are so pleased we stopped by. This guest house is right by the river. We were given a very warm welcome - a big hug from the owner, and very relaxed check in. He offered us the garage for our motorbikes which was excellent, always good having them...

This is a charming guest house in a charming medieval city. What sets it apart are the owners. From the warm welcome when we arrived, Michael continued to take care of us in every way possible. Our room overlooked the river and the dining area on the river was a very nice spot for lunch. Breakfast was excellent including the...

We stayed in the hotel for two nights on our road trip in Germany. The location was perfect for exploring the Black Forest area. Schiltach, where the hotel is located, is a beautiful little German village with its 18th century buildings and the small river running right by the hotel and its restaurant's terrace. The hotel itself was great value...

We stayed here for two nights and had a really nice time. This is a quiet and tranquil place, with lovely nature. The B&B is very nice, with clean and big rooms. You really feel welcome, the owners are super friendly people who greets you with a big hug. I loved the breakfast, especially the fresh fruits and berries. The...

It was a blistering hot day and the village was jumping with activities around the rafting festival which was apparently devised years ago at the Alten Brucke. It was blissful to sit in their lovely river garden and enjoy the local Alpisbacher beer after a long journey. The river on this stretch is very shallow and seems paved underneath. A...
