At about 10000 ft, from the sea level, located in the Garhwal Himalayas of the state of Uttrakhand Cliff Top, Auli is the second highest resort located in the World. The resort provides a 270 degree clear view of the snow covered Nanda Devi range (the highest in india and third highest in the world). Other ranges in sight include Dronagiri, Kamet, Trishul, Neelkanth, Mana, and Mukut . They belong to the snow-line ranges which are covered with snow all round the year. In summers, when the snow gives way to carpets of grass and flowers, hikers and trekkers will find numerous marked walks and mountain bike trails. Trekkers to Kuari Pass and the Valley of Flowers prefer to stay on at Clifftop Club at the end of the trek to avail the luxury of hot baths and lavish cuisine. The property has 20 spacious family suites all equipped with state of an art facilities that one could ever imagine at such a location. Adequate lighting and heating arrangements are made in every room, with power back facilities.

the hotel has the best views thats the sole reason for my rating. otherwise the hotel is not that clean. the food is also average.but keeping in mind the connectivity and availability it was good. its an average hotel just bcz of the view that it has i have given an upper rating to it.yes its expensive too.

Clifftop easily has amongst the best locations that a hotel can ask for.. but this place needs a lot maintenance work. One has to take the cable car from Joshimath to get here & if you miss the last car at 4.15 then you will have to spend the night in Joshimath. The ride is absolutely beautiful & Auli is definitely a slice of heaven.

Clifftop has a fantastic view of the Himalayas from most rooms & its literally a wonderland when its snowing. But the indifference of the Hotel owner's is telling, creaking stairs, a uselessly cold restaurant where not much is available in terms of variety. Room service is best if you stay here because their staff is the best thing about them, hardworking & eager to please. Apparently this place had close to 50 staff at one time but now has to make do with 10 odd only who multi-task to run this place. Apparently this place is embroiled in some sort of litigation with the U'khand Govt.

Anyhow, our room was very comfortable when it was freezing outside. There is rare power outage inspite of bad weather. Best thing is, the fun is just outside the hotel.. for skiing, snow boarding, snow etc we just need to step out of the hotel. One can rent the ski gear & gumboots required to get around in the snow. The highlight was the warm "Garhwali hospitality". Highly recommend Auli as a must visit destination but Clifftop needs to work on the issues its facing.

The five stars of this property is for its location, location and location ... anyone who is planning a visit to Auli, Uttarakhand, he is dreaming to experience snowy slopes, breath taking views of Himalayan peaks, specially to see the glory of Nanda Devi from a stone pelting distance.... then Clifftop Club will be his destination. It’s a old certified ski resort, but highest in altitude in Auli and probably in India. The rooms are extra spacious specially the Nanda Devi view rooms with large living room and balcony that offers majestic 360 degree panoramic views of Himalayan peaks like Hati, Ghodi, Barmal, Nandadevi, Trishul etc. The rooms are well maintained, comfortable and cozy with 24x7 heater, hot cold water supply, bath tub and electricity . They have fully functional kitchen and room services throughout the day. They arrange porters to carry luggage from 8th tower of Auli ropeway. It is located very close to Auli lake and Gorson bugyal. Food quality is good though have limited options in breakfast. Overall it’s a paradise for photo enthusiasts, and nature lovers .

Very disappointed considering the very high price paid. The hotel has one of the best vantage points but has failed to capitalise on it

Disappointments
1...: The only two ways to access is via a narrow road which goes through an ITBP Army camp or by Ropeway. The 3rd option, chairlift was out of operation. I was assured by Mr Ghanshyam at time of booking that it could be accessed by Toyota Innova. But the reception insisted the road was blocked as one car had stalled. as rains two days back had made it non-motorable and army did not permit cars through. So they said that we had to take the Ropeway from Lower Auli. We believed them and drove down (we were already in Himalayan Auli, which was half way, for previous two days). Then we had doubts and asked an ITBP personnel who said there was no issue. We turned around and went back after wasting two hours on the winding road going downhill unnecessarily. Taking the ropeway would have meant that from the road in lower Auli we had to carry our luggage up a steep flight of stairs and board the crowded Cable Car which comes only once 30 mins and we may have to wait for next or later car ! We were able to drive to the hotel without any issue and there was NO blockage as claimed. And we were vindicated because another group of people who were staying there for the previous 3 days were shocked to see us drive in, spoke to us then went down by cable car and brought their cars to the hotel also! They had struggled to bring their bags in the cable car and said that other occupants were angry that their luggage took up space. And you have to pay Rs 1000 a person (even if you go only one way). And It was a good 300metres steep climb from ropeway to hotel and the hotel staff would have to come and help you bring the baggage to the hotel !
A simple solution would have been for the hotel to have 3 or 4 of its own Jeeps to take people from Lower Auli to the hotel instead of making it difficult for its guests.

2...Cleanliness: The hotel claims to have a lot of activites but practically has none. It was very dusty and the floors had a high level of dust in common areas. I could not use the activity room which was very very dusty. Most of common areas were dusty. Event he path to the restaurant (stairways) were dirty and dusty
3. The Activity Room was very dirty and could not be used. This was a big disapointment and requests to clean the room were ignored.

THE GOOD
1..Rooms: Thankfully the rooms were quite good, although old and things worked decently Most of the rooms appeared empty and it was evidenced by the few people in the restaurant
2... View: The view was great but then you could take the ropeway and go to the hilltop to get the view – although staying there is a different experience. Food was average but to be fair it is not easy to get ingredients to that place.
In winters this hotel will be full of snow, but in summer when we visited, it appeared as if a lot of maintenance was needed.

Overall NOT worth the pain of going there in Summer in its current state.

This in undoubtedly The Best place to stay in Auli. The hotel has a surreal view of the majestic Himalayas, specially the Nanda Devi Peak.
Rooms have balconies where you can sit and enjoy the snow clad Himalayas during sunrise and sunsets. While in the night, the sky looks star studded, seeing is believing.
Rooms are very comfortable and cozy. They provide a heater, which is required without question.
It has been maintained and upgraded very nicely, considering it is an old property.
It gives you a feel of an old British Wooden Bunglow.
The food was the highlight of the stay. It was simply WoW. The Best we had during our long trip in Garhwal.
They altered the dishes to our taste- Non Spicy and totally home like.
Our Man Friday- Raghu, always running around and at our service, on 1 call. He would write each and every request you would make, for your food and other things and will deliver Immaculately.
Once at the property, you believe the hardships involved with managing a hotel at this altitude and location. Hats off to the Owners, Hotel Management and the Entire staff for running the show so so well.
We would surely visit again and will recommend others.

The rest was good, clean and comfortable. Excellent staff and food. The food was always served hot and tasty inspite of the weather being at 0 degree and fresh snowfall.

The ski equipment's were excellent and the so were the trainers.

Overall a fantastic holiday with family

My husband and I booked this property thinking that we will learn skiing as it is considered as one of the best skiing resort but we were very disappointed looking at the condition of this place . Not at all RCI GOLD CROWN PROPERTY. Very shabby and very dirty . Not at all maintained and in a very sorry condition . In freezing conditions the heater in the rooms were not working at all and because of all these things we had to cancel our plans and we went back very disappointed and dissatisfied. Not at all recommended to anyone. Thumbs down 👎 for everything
