My husband and I started a month-long trip to Australia with a few days in Rarotonga. We really wanted a perfect tropical break and a place to just relax and unwind. Both Rarotonga and Makayla Palms exceeded our expectations, and we would love to go back and spend more time there. We certainly didn't want to leave when it was...

We stayed for 3 nights in Makayla Palms as part of our Rarotonga/Aitutaki holiday. This was the second time we have stayed at Makayla Palms, and in short it was better than the first time, if that's even possible! We only have a few things to say because our previous review covered most things. The villas have new large fridges...

We arrived in Rarotonga on a beautiful sunny day and were met at the airport by John. From this moment onwards we felt like we were home with our hosts Rachel and John, both were very informative and extremely helpful without being intrusive. Our villa was super clean and tastefully decorated along with the fridge and pantry being stocked. Rachel...

My husband and I spent 2 weeks at Makayla Palms this February. We stayed in the beautiful, modern 2 bedroom villa, where anything we could want was available to us - including a terrific blender for cocktails on the deck! Rachel & John are fabulous hosts, always available and ready to help with any question or concern...and Rachel's baking, which...

With a mere week to enjoy the fruits of Rarotonga before heading back to the intensity of big city living, my (new) wife and I were seeking accommodation which offered more than the 'carbon copy' resorts so readily pushed by travel agents. With the usual guidance from the tripadvisor community, I think we found a winner in Makayla Palms. With...

My parents have been to Rarotonga twice and stayed at Makayla Palms on their second trip. They so enjoyed their stay that when we decided to go to the Cook Islands for our 10th anniversary we chose to stay at Makayla Palms as well. It was a great choice! We booked one of the studio villas, which was ample for...

We stayed at Makayla Palms from 20th March - 26th March (not long enough!). Its located in a beautiful spot and is in every way a haven. The personal touches - such as Rachel's baking, John's warm welcome at the airport, assistance with booking and recommendations etc - make this place even more special. Loved every moment and we will...

We've just returned from a week of rest and relaxation at Makayla Palms. We really appreciated the service/personal touch Rachel and John brought to our experience. We stayed at the villa (the largest of the three units), it was immaculately clean, spacious and well equipped for self catering. The location was excellent, just 20 metres away from a picture book...

We spent the second week of our honeymoon at Makayla Palms, after flying to Rarotonga from Aitutaki. John picked us up at the airport and Rachel was there to greet us upon arrival, immediately making us feel at home in our beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean villa. The location of Makayla Palms is excellent. We snorkeled in many differenct locations on...
