The manager Nitesh was friendly and helpful and let us use his phone to make sightseeing arrangements. The menu was limited but tasty. All and all I'd recommend Holly Hock for a night or two.
Rooms are extremely basic and quite compact. They certainly have 24-hour hot water but you need to learn the technique. The tap is little complicated.
Loved their coffee/tea. But as far as food is concerned, there is very little choice. If you don't have your own vehicle, a rickshaw ride to town will cost you Rs 200 (return).
We were attended to by Nithesh, a soft-spoken guy, helpful guy.
There are almost no mobile signal availability in the area. I tried to contact the website but could not able to do so. I booked two delux room. They show me two room, the one which was almost cleaned was extremely small and shabby. It cannot be a delux room. The other one was bigger and seems to be good but yet to be cleaned. The stair to go down to the room was a spiral one and extremely narrow. If you have a older person , it would not be possible for him/her to use it. We were extremely angry and demand our money back. Then they suggested to move us in a another hotel of same owner. It was already late and we had no other choice to agree on their term. We then transfer to another hotel in a very odd place to me with limited basic arrangement. It was a very bad deal. One of the worst travel experience for me. I will not recommend this to anyone.
View from hollyhock, it's amazing. We have visited all places in Munnar. But we didn't see a view like this.
We are really enjoyed our stay in Hollyhock. Thanks.
we skipped lunch- but they carged in our bill, the manager is not aware how to treat guest
my biju who dosent not stay there - will handel and promises more then what he can do or offer,
at night it was more terriable
it was raining and water was entering in room- there was no hot water avaialbe - non of switches were wroking - and water to drink was not available - on calling for attender- there was non response- night there was no power- it was dark
very difficult to stay with family
dinner was also served wat they could eat- non menu options were avaialbel
\on talking to the attender( manager) he said this is was they can offer- it was like lodge servie- in night it was raining - i was very pissed off and help less-
beds were not cleaned - it was used by previous guest and same was offered
morning break fast was as usual cooked by non cook- it was bad
while cheking out - they -said even web site says we can pay by card- but card machine was not available - the manager insisted to pay by cash only - and stood without caring - and making very odd face- i had to request and promise him that i will send cash through cab driver
felt very bad- dint want to fight - but felt that i will never recommend this place for every
The manager, Nitesh, was also fabulous: he provided great advice on tours and walks and was always keen to help whenever asked. He was very efficient and had a great manner. He sorted out anything straight away. He was one of the best managers we came across in touring India. . Food was only served to guests so the menu was limited, but it was always excellent.
The road down to Munnar town made a pleasant walk. We met some lovely and interesting travellers at the hotel.
it was also a very pleasant place to escape to after the noise of the all night raves at the temples in Munnar!
