LocaTea Valley is easily the best hotel in Munnar. The hotel might seem inaccessible at first since it is nested in the tea gardens of Munnar with only a narrow road to access it but the careful drive is worth it. It is a huge property with panoramic picturesque views from its rooms. The rooms we got were also pretty huge could spaciously accommodate 3 people with an extra bed It also has recreational facilities, bonfire arrangements, tree house etc and breakfast spread was pretty good. Service is also very good and quick with very polite and courteous staff. Our stay in Munnar was all the more better because we stayed at Tea Valley. It is located 15 mins (door to door) from the main Munnar market. The hotel covers Pothamedu view point and Tea Gardens visit itself so 2 more things to do get covered when you stay here. Highly recommend Tea Valley Resort

We stayed here for a night with our two kids in their premium cottage room which overlooked the most beautiful view of munnar, the entire valley with tea garden and beyond. When we arrived there was repair work going on in the resort so that might explain few things why the property looked a bit haywire and unorganized. Their game room for one was a total mess and restaurant a little less lively, but the property is huge and one can explore by walking their winding and bit sloping pathways which elders might not be comfortable with. But all the effort is worth it!!. The path leads to a tree house which sits atop a high ground overlooking the most beautiful view and you feel tranquility around you and don't want to come down.this would be the most defining feature of this property. Hopefully after it's repair work more colors are added to this place to make it look more vibrant and attractive as it's surroundings. All the best!!
P. S. Special thanks to the restaurant staff to make a special Kerala dish for us the following morning on request. It was finger licking!!

The room is not at all what was shown in the pictures and the 360 degree view on the hotel website.
The rooms are unkempt, unclean and unhygienic. The cushions on the beds were stinking, the washroom stinks, kettle has a stench as if a rat has died in it.
The upholstery is unclean has stains all over and in a dilapidated state. The fan has never been cleaned, the windows are dirty, there is dust all over the room. The walls have fungus. The bathroom does not have toilet paper. The chairs and tables kept in the balcony look like discarded furniture.
The place reeks of sheer neglect and basic hygiene, stuff that is expected from even the most basic of hotels. (The price we paid was equivalent of renowned 5 star hotels in metros)
Further, there is no working Wifi and Intercom in the room. During Covid times when people are talking about cleanliness, we get a room which is dirty to the core. The hotel staff reveal helplessness in cleaning / maintaining the rooms due to budgetary cuts by the management and reduction in staff.
Sanitizers: No sanitizers available in the rooms or the restaurants. There is one bottle at the hotel entrance which we found always empty in the 4 days visit we were there.
Food: Average, Breakfast: Not a large spread and same for all 4 days with the exception of change in juices daily and 1 dish on the menu
Room Amenities: None of the amenities mentioned on the websites / listings were there in the room. Just one soap and a small shampoo.

I had a two night stay at the resort with my husband and 3 year old kid. The infrastructure is picture perfect and view is mesmerizing. You will feel like getting into a whole new world once you enter the resort. It's well designed to utilise the natural beauty and the management has done a good job in maintaining the place. But once you enter the room you will have a different feeling. The buildings are old and eco friendly which is fine.. But the rooms are not dusted or cleaned before checkin. You will find dust and dirt in every corner.
Washroom was not clean and there was hair and dirt on the walls. We had to call the room service immediately to clean the bathroom and repair the leaking pipes. None of the standard toiletries were provided.. Every time we had to call the reception for towels, soap, brush etc. Daily room service or cleaning is not done and room becomes more dirty and waste is not cleared.
Again they are blessed with a wonderful chef.. Because every meal we had during our stay was delicious. Limited menu options are available...
You can't expect the standard hospitality services from staff.. During dinner we saw one large joint family having some fun and creating noise in dining hall and to our surprise one of the staff member shushed them quite rudely. They don't provide baggage services during checkout or check in until we request for it.
Overall you can have a pleasent stay by your own (good ambience) and have good food. But the staff and management need to work on their hospitality and hygiene.

This hotel is hidden in the beautiful valleys of Munnar with an amazing views of the fog covered hills and beautiful tea plantations all around. The ambiance here makes you want to stay longer and just embrace the surrounding.
The rooms were clean and very comfortable and the view from the rooms is breathtaking.
From the moment we arrived the staff were very helpful and friendly and the service was amazing.
The food at the restaurant is equally great in quality and variety. The morning breakfasts were a buffet with a variety of different Northern and Southern Indian foods.
These amenities and the surrounding ambiance convinced us to extend our stay. I highly recommend the tea valley resort to anyone looking to enjoy a lovely time in Munnar.

I have stayed there from 28/Dec~31/Dec. I booked a executive cottage. This cottage don’t have AC. I think don’t even required over there as temp is around 10~20 deg.
Room was nice and view from the balcony is awesome.
Only disappointing thing was bathroom was not good smelling. They did not put any freshner there.
It was very near to pothamedu view point. One can enjoy the tea gardens beauty from the gate of hotel. It’s situated inside the tea gardens.
We got a room on 5th floor. You have go by stairs only. Ya sometimes it’s tiresome too.
Breakfast variety and quality was awesome.
I the breakfast they have buffet.
For the dinner they have buffet but it’s expensive (Rs 630/Pax).
Staff was nice and cooperative.
WiFi did not work on the 5th floor, we have to come to at reception for the Internet.
Airtel network was very poor over there but Jio was working fine.

The property is a beautiful, nestled amongst tea plantation and with 29 semi detached cottages, the stay offers privacy and views of the plantation right from your balcony- yes every cottage has a balcony facing the tea plantation. You can walk down to most of the view points like Pothamedu view point. And if not, take your pics stepping right outside the property gates. We stayed in luxury cottage with 3 adults and 1 child. The rooms are spacious and furnished, not luxury level but enough to give you a good stay. In the evening, the clouds descend onto your balcony literally. The restaurant offers complimentary breakfast and paid lunch and dinner (Rs 400 plus taxes) and it was good option. The road leading to the property from view point is a bit rough and needs good driving skills. If you are uncomfortable, pls ask property to send a driver. Pls do carry BSNL sim since no other service works here. Ask for Wi-Fi password at property. Overall I will definitely recommend Tea Valley Munnar to all my friends

Great Service,Rajesh you meet us at front desk is helpful during our entire 2days stay.
The resort is on estate road where only one car can go at a time. When we went after 5 oclock fog is there so u wherever u r u have to reach the resort before 5. After that i think it is risky for u to reach there. We felt like after 5 we are in jail as cant go out and in the resort also u cant take a walk or anything. We can play few games which they have provided in the resort like table tennis and carrom and chess.
Whenever you book the resorts and hotels in kerela done please rely on travel agents i think tea county for VIP tour and edussary eastend for luxury tour are the hotels located in the town. So u can enjoy in the hotel also as well as in the town also.

We stayed as family of 3, for 3 nights. And loved this place!
Property is beautiful and well-maintained. Amenities are good, except for the game room, which I think is mainly because doesn't get many visitors. Staff is courteous, prompt and helpful. Food is ok, with limited menu for vegetarians.
The only drawback of the place is that it is on a hill slope, so rooms with relatively better views are at a height from the resort reception and restaurant, and require a walk that may be uncomfortable to kids and elderly.
Overall, an awesome stay experience, made better with great service from Suresh, Sudhakar, Vijay, Sanjay and the entire staff.

Go to Pothamadu view point from where their is a small road going downhill which will take you directly to tea valley resort.
Do take the dinner buffet because it is difficult to go outside after dark and the food is great.
Kindly contact our reservation at 9995422428
I was here in April so I don’t know about the monsoon rain, however the road to the hotel is difficult to drive, narrow, lots of pot holes, extremely sharp bends etc. You have to be very careful. All other roads in the area are fine, full tarmac.
Daytime will be quite hot but evenings will be very pleasant. Ideal time to visit munnar is post rains which is post September.
