A tented walking safari with camels is a uniquely memorable experience and the Karisia team are truly superb from top to bottom. Their attention to detail, their knowledge and their desire to give you a really special time are all exceptional. Every day is a different adventure with Gabriel and his team looking after you. On a practical level, nothing...

My entire family took a three day safari with Gabriel, Adan and the team. It was way beyond expectations. It all started with a warm welcome from the entire team when we arrived and went up from there. The food was varied and great and they managed to make great vegetarian meals as well. Each day we would walk about...

I knew from reviews to expect exciting animal encounters while trekking across the Laikipia area and amazing comfort at our nightly camps, but I was only hoping that our time among Maasai guides and trackers would provide a window into their culture and impresssive skills/knowledge in their ancestral land. Instead, my time was an open-hearted welcome and unforgettable cultural exchange...

We stayed in a specially-erected camp in a lovely location by a river - it was at the luxurious end of camping with hot showers and proper bedding! The Samburu team who looked after us were friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. We saw a variety of flora and fauna and the guides were keen to share their extensive...

This was one of the most incredible experiences of our lives, can't recommend it highly enough. We were travelling with 2 young children and we all loved it. Doing safaris on foot is so much more interesting that in a vehicle and the guides are incredibly knowledgeable and informative, so you are in really safe hands. Camels carry all the...

My husband and I spent 3 nights with Karisia during our honeymoon in Kenya and I have never in my life been so well looked after. Our safari was exclusive so it was just us, the guides, and the rest of the wonderful staff in the middle Kenya. The food was excellent--honestly better food than I've had in a lot...

We had the best four-days on holiday we have ever had walking with Karisia. The place is beautiful, the tents super-comfortable, but what really makes it so special are the people. We set off with 14 samburu and 20 camels to look after us, with Gabriel in charge and James at his side. They did everything efficiently, with charm and...

There's so much wonderful to say about Karisia, it's difficult to choose where to start. First off, probably good to know what you're getting into: this is a camping trip, no buts about it. It's a very luxurious one, in that you're never doing ANY of the work (cooking, cleaning, moving camp), but you're still sleeping in a tent, on...

1. we (2 pax) were at a satellite camp (which is the non-travelling version, permanently set up tents) and we were the only ones staying at the camp as the other teams have gone to do the moving camps (which also sounded really fun). All the tents looked comfy and large (we chose the smallest one but still very spacious)....

A Karisia Walking Safari was an amazing experience and a fabulous addition to a Kenya safari itinerary. The opportunity to be on the ground (or on a camel when your feet are tired of walking) provided a completely different vantage point for the Kenyan landscape and wildlife. We tracked animals (including leopard and hyena) by their foot prints in the...
