I recently visited Swinford during its festival week and stayed in the gateway hotel. My experience couldn't have been better. I had a very pleasant rom with a shower and everything was spotlessly clean. The housekeeping staff were very diligent, making sure I wanted for nothing. The food was excellent and very abundant. Also there is service all day which...

Booked in with short notice. Awful smell in lift, not a good start. Carpet in the hallway badly stained. Git to room only to find we had been allocated a disabled room! Room very stuffy, magnificent view if a brick wall to top things off. Had a shower and tried to use the hairdryer only to find the cable pulled...

Our family (2 kids under 2) stayed here over the Bank holiday weekend. We were forewarned when booking that the festival was on and, although it was still a lot busier than expected, we had an enjoyable stay in the hotel and town. The room was set up with the spare bed and cot as requested, reception were happy to...

While hotel made me aware that there was a festival on and I did expect some noise even though I requested quiet room for my parents, I never expected to sleep in a room where there was sick from previous occupiers behind bedroom door. I didn't spot it til the following morning. I expected after dinner to sit at quiet...

I stayed here on Sunday night of the bank holiday. There was a festival on and great atmosphere around the town. The hotel had a DJ playing and let in every sort (no security of any type on the door) and there was a free for all to help yourself to the hotel. I requested a quiet room (I cant...

We stayed at the Gateway this week, enjoying a great welcome and splendid service. Nothing was too much for the staff and our room was clean and more than adequate for our needs. We finished our stay with a wonderful full Irish breakfast. Thank you.

A quick Friday overnight while waiting to pick up the family from Knock airport on Saturday morning. The bedroom was clean but everything seems to be very "well used". The bathroom was outdated and the toiletries were poor quality. Food options were limited and I decided to eat elsewhere. Although on reflection having found my alternative option to be quite...

Searching for ancestral roots brought me to Swinford. I was reluctant to stay in a local hotel- I feared it would be old, musty and loud. I was WRONG on all counts. Wonderful stay with kind Irish hosts. The Sunday lamb dinner was tender and tasty- the room large, clean and comfortable. Great mattress and quiet room away from the...

This was a nice little town we stayed in for one night only. At this hotel, the room was very dirty and my friend and I would not walk on the carpeting without shoes on. The bed-skirts were filthy and there were still sticky glass residue marks on the desk from whom ever visited before us. Ick. The restaurant served...

Stayed mid week on business. Didn't think it that busy but was out in a single room for wheelchair user. Was way too tired to ask for a move as was long day. Room could do with a makeover. Great Breakfast and decent value, staff looked and went about their chores as newbies and would need some training in the service...
