Seclude Ramgarh Taradale is a beautiful 6 bedroom villa and a 7 hour drive from Delhi, and lies in the sleepy hamlet of Ramgarh in the north-eastern part of the Kumaon region of the Himalayas. This relatively undiscovered but increasingly popular destination is often termed as the fruit basket of the picturesque Uttarakhand state because of its sprawling peach, plum, apricot, apple & pear orchards. The beauty of Ramgarh and its surrounding majestic mountains, pristine Oak & Rhododendron forests, crisp cool air and vast clear skies attracted several industrial & royal houses to set up their estates here in the last century. The peace & tranquillity of this place inspired the likes of Rabindranath Tagore who penned parts of his famous Gitanjali here. Mahadevi Verma the prose & poetry writer built an abode here which is now a museum. Narain Swami & Sri Aurobindo also founded Ashrams in the vicinity. The famous wildlife conservationist and writer Jim Corbett stayed here while en-route to bag one of the man-eating Tigers and has mentioned Ramgarh in one of his books.

Visited the Taradale cottage in the month of October 2020 amidst a very active pandemic so as travellers of course the worry was real but to know that by rule one only gets to check in to the property holding a negative test report of 72 hrs prior and the place thoroughly sanitised, every worry is put to rest. Then land at the property and you are blown away by the warm and fuzzy old world charm of the cottage, the gorgeous views and the fabulous service! Staying at the Cuckoo room was like staying inside of a movie set! Every corner of the cottage is so tastefully done, u want to stop & marvel at every wall! To top it, the beautiful views of the snow clad mountains, sitting outside soaking the sun, enjoying our morning cuppa amongst it all makes u want to never leave. There is ample space around the cottage for you to enjoy differently- a patio, a sit out area with a swing, a separate sit out area for the views etc. I picked up a book from their amazing collection at their small library in the cottage and made sure to read in each of these sit out places!
The food is finger licking good, the staff is so courteous, always smiling. There is also no dearth of activity around the cottage, u can play badminton & billiards (badminton court & billiards table provided in the cottage) take treks around the property, take gorgeous nature walks and once you’ve lost all the weight with all the walking around and are finally feeling fitter, go indulge in some stupendous samosas from Bhatt ka dhaba at the Ramgarh market area! We also did a small trek to a rivulet which was totally worth it! The air is fresh and city dwellers must make full use of this pleasant change!
The staff at the cottage took care of our every need and made fabulous arrangements for our group. From arranging a movie night set up, to bonfires and painstakingly-done table setups for every meal, everything was so well taken care of. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Taradale cottage and recommend everyone to come and experience this for themselves!

Seclude Taradale is just the ideal colonial style bungalow in the midst of the fruit bowl of Ramgarh, to unwind, chill and rejuvenate.

Tastefully done up rooms offer a spectacular view of the snow clad Himalayan ranges. Ideally located to view a clear blue sky by day and a stargazer's haven by night.

The team at the property is extremely friendly and go out of the way to take care of the guests. Kudos to the chef for the finger licking food at Taradale.

Good internet available for the tech geeks and social media addicts 😂😂.

Needless to mention that Seclude takes special care to entertain only guests with a Covid negative test report and regularly tested staff members to ensure safety in the present times.

Thoroughly enjoyed the four days spent at this property.

We stayed at the property with a few friends and the hospitality offered by the staff was everything. It made us feel comfortable and not feel like guests but as if it was our holiday home. The food cooked by the chef was so wholesome and he was so accommodating of our needs and the variety of food that we asked him to cook for us. Everything was perfect. Bhagat Singh ji was also very sweet and always there to heed to any request put up by us. The property in itself is vintage and beautiful. It would have been great if certain areas wouldn’t be lock like they were would have allowed us to enjoy the property even more.
The staff was even more gracious to decorate for the birthday and made sure that are celebrations were extra special.

The property manager, Ms. Akriti Sood was very rude and unsupportive. She didn’t know how to treat and cooperate with a guest.

Also, the person from central reservations, Mr. Yuvraj was very unsupportive, he didn’t stay to his words and commitment. They just care about their money, after receiving the money, they don’t care about the guests.

Food quality and taste was sometimes good and sometimes very bad. Menu was too limited.

Room services were very poor, they weren’t able to give appropriate numbers of blankets and heaters. Electricity was also a big issue. Hot water service was also very poor, major members of our group had to take bath with cold water that too in 7 degrees temperature out there.

Location of the property is also very weird, we had to walk down so much to reach the property. The way to the property was very risky, slippery and narrow. It’s very tough to travel up and down the property.

Too many restrictions were imposed on us. I won’t recommend anyone to choose this property as your vacation accommodation. They will spoil your mood and your vacation.

Dear Mr Sahil We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. The property has 6 rooms and booking made and paid for by you was for 14 adults only but without any prior information, you arrived with 21 people which obviously stretched our limited resources be it water, blankets, heaters, food etc. Despite the stretch on our resources, our entire team worked hard to give you the best hospitality. A special cake was made for you, a beautiful outdoor bonfire was arranged, a barbecue was arranged and despite that, we are sorry that you found our services unsatisfactory. The property is located off the road and the walking path is usually clear and cleaned so that guests enjoy the walk in the mountains with ease. We always try our best to keep our guests happy as we seek for loyalty from our guests. Thanks & Regards Team Seclude

It is was a surprise visit with family & friends to “Taradale cottage by Seclude” at Ramgarh during this current pandemic for a 4 day visit from New Delhi.

This place has a Great location, its architecture reminiscent of British era but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay is the peace & serenity all round.

The fresh, warm & delectable food and the ever smiling & friendly staff is the icing on the cake. Manager Nadeem & his team were incredibly helpful and generous with their time especially in organising a bonfire & bar-be-cue night and a movie night in no time.

Given the altitude of the property we could see snow capped Himalayan peaks in full glory in the mornings.

There are lots of hiking/ trekking activities to do as well such as trek to the river front or hiking to the nearby Ramgarh town which meanders through beautiful meadows & picturesque scenery.

Would certainly recommend this Propery to all and a must visit at the earliest.

Beautiful 6 room bungalow set in a large area with nice sitouts and good badminton court. The fabulous Chinar & rare orange maple tree make super photo locations. The lounge is nice for games with family. Cook Omi and staff Deepak & Manoj were extremely hospitable and we could have stayed for a week more.
Indian and Continental food including the caramel were scrumptious.
WiFi was good in all areas the rooms were clean and the bonfire outside is wonderful. An occasional huge spider in the rooms though expected is scary in the hills .
Unexpected was the great effort the staff did to decorate our room on our anniversary and a great outdoor and indoor setup for the meal.
Overall a wholesome place with great staff. Ideal if you book the whole villa.

Had the most relaxing time at Taradale in Ramgarh, with scenic views around the most aesthetically decorated old-school victorian villa. The hospitality extended at Taradale by the Manager Nadeem, in-house Chef Omiji and everyone else in the team made us feel right at home. Delicious home cooked pahadi meals were prepared as per our liking by Omiji, and Deepakji (a member of the support team) took us around the village for hikes and strolls while telling interesting storie of Ramgarh. The cosy setting of the house, board games, a pool table and a badminton court to keep us entertained, and plenty of gazebos to sit in and sip on chai while watching the sun rise and set made it a perfect getaway up in the hills.

We recently stayed at the Seclude Taradale Cottage with our friends and children. It was the much deserved break we all needed during these trying times!! The colonial styled cottage was nestled away between the mountains with stunning vistas of the mountains and forests and we truly were ‘secluded’ from the world for 5 days. The staff was extremely hospitable with Nadeem Joo being our guide on treks, taking special efforts when we celebrated 2 birthdays in our group and was on first name basis with the kids!! We were served deliciously yummy home style cuisine whipped up by the chef Omi Daa and Shekhar, Deepak and Manoj were ever helpful with all our requests!! Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a home away from home in a peaceful, tranquil setting!!

Hi....Does the duplex room have a good view? Please suggest.
Answer from Taradale C
Thanks very much for your interest and query. Each of our rooms has a different view. While some face a valley, others the mountains and yet another the garden or the orchard & forest ,whilst some face a combination of these views . The Duplex Suite overlooks the sloping hill and orchard behind the Cottage .
