Lunch with friends; we were well looked after in an attractive dining room with well spaced tables. The food was attractively served except we still had the "who ordered the fish routine". It is a basic requirement of good service for restaurants to know who ordered what. The specials were a lot cheaper than the main menu. All in all...

Lovely setting, very comfortable restaurant ( well spaced tables also), excellent food (decent portions) and attentive staff. What more can I say? All maintained with a change of management. Highly recommended .

Attended with family to celebrate our sons move to Uni. Be sure to pre book on a Saturday lunchtime it was very busy. We had the set lunch menu which represented good value for money. The food was freshly cooked to order and took some time but was worth the wait. The grounds are fabulous & the restaurant cosy. We...

I booked this restaurant for the family to celebrate my mummy's birthday and it was lovely. A beautiful setting, nice local drinks and a tasteful quaintly decorated venue. The starter and dessert was lovely and as it was a Sunday I went for the roast. It was nice, but didn't blow my mind. However the other options on the a...

We stayed in the Avon room number 1. Very nicely appointed if a bit small. Very comfortable bed. The staff are very nice here and made are stay relaxing and homely. The food was very good we decided to eat in every night. We liked the fact we could choose to eat in the bar but still have the restaurant...

Visited the area and stayed at The Mill with family for the weekend... lovely historic inn situated on the bank of the river, very welcoming, clean, tastefully and sympathetically decorated throughout, rooms were very comfortable and quiet... spacious terraces for eating out or relaxing during warm weather.... and a "secret garden" which has lightening effects at night time. There is...

As readers will note from a previous review I was once full of praise for the restaraunt at the Mill. But an experience in August 2016 completely destroyed my previous high opinion of this beaitfully located restaraunt in the New Forest. The service was abysmal and was recognised as being so by a senior member of staff but no effort...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a pretty privately owned restaurant with 7 lovely individually decorated bedrooms, serving gorgeous local or organic food. We try not to be pretentious, preferring instead to be informal and friendly, but we are still totally committed to quality and service. But the best part of all is the river and rambling gardens, home to a family of ducks and if you are lucky you might even spot a Kingfisher! ... more   less
