I always stay at YHA when working away from home and have stayed at YHA Beer quite a few times now. It is a beautiful building and Beer itself is a real gem of a place to visit on the Jurassic Coast. I sort out my own meals and the member's kitchen at Beer is well equipped and always clean.... More

The hostel building is beautiful (arts & crafts style) and the rooms have some interesting features such as a stained glass window in room 1. The beds were very comfortable and are now made up for you which was great! The grounds looked nice and well kept; there is a flat, lawned area with plenty of seating and a fantastic... More

This hostel has a beautiful location with lovely grounds for camping, but is still within walking distance of the town. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are rather compact but the shower facilities were clean and modern and there is a good lounge and kitchen. Would definitely stay again

Nicely kept building with large dining room and good size kitchen. Quite small shower rooms but each of them equipped with a stool and over door hangers so your clothes will not be washed at the same time:). 5-bed bedroom could be bigger and unfortunately no lockers for your valuable belongings and only one chair to share between 5 people... We visited YHA Beer on the recommendation of someone high up in the association, and I can see why. It's a recently refurbished pretty, small scale hostel with a character that will fit many people's idea of what Youth Hostelling used to be. Perfect for visiting the Jurassic Coast or as a stop over on the coastal path. However...the management... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night in September 2016. We had brought our Daughter down to Uni in Exeter and found it hard to get reasonibly priced accomodation. As YHA members we have used Hostels before and knew what to expect. No Frills but clean and comfortable. We were running very late to check into the hostel... More

Having dropped our daughter off at Exeter University we were looking for somewhere to stay for a few days and unwind before we took on the long journey home. I booked in for two nights at this hostel and liked it so much I added another two nights. Its a lovely old arts and crafts house and a campsite with Bell tents just a few minutes walk up from the sea in tiny Beer village. The hostel is run to very high standards, spotlessly clean everywhere and the staff... More
