I chose this hotel due to good reviews on TripAdvisor but I guess I was unlucky that I had some problems there. The employees of the Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil or DGAC (Chilean civil aviation authority that oversees all airports) went on strike 15 Sep 2015 so domestic and international flights in and out of Chile were canceled or...

Nice local BB type accommodation in a quieter, higher area of town. Some rooms with ocean view. The breakfast dining area has very nice ocean view. People are easy to talk to and very willing to share and help. And they speak English!!! To this language-deficient traveler, that was a relief! The hotel was a 5-10 minute walk to small...

Being met at the airport with fresh floral leis and no hassle transfer got the trip off to a great start. The location is great and the entry grounds are beautifully covered with vibrantly colored hibiscus and other flowers. Check in was casual, no problem. The inside of the building is dark, unlit halls don't give a good impression. the...

I looked through all the top rated hotels on tripadvisor before choosing this hotel based on the following: (1) easy walking distance from town and food, (2) fair price (<US$200/night) and (3) able to book via Amex Travel (have some recourse if there were problems). We are independent travelers and like to get a feel of locals so eliminated the...

I stayed in this hotel on September 2014, while I was traveling alone, exploring the island. My room was a double room, also if I asked and payed for a single room; the room was very nice and clean, with a wide window in front of the garden. The breakfast was amazing, with a lot of quality food like cakes,...

This is a nice basic hotel - clean, safe, comfortable and in a good location. Pick up and drop off at the airport was arranged by them for us. Easy to walk into the town from the hotel too. Service was very good, especially Estefan who arranged some tours for us and also told us us about the passport stamp...

perfect location . place needs renovation, friendly staff (Estefan) nice view if u take Ocean -Garden site. Whole island is infested with cockroaches, and they know no boundaries - so this hotel was not spared by their ubiquitous presence... one day I found a dead cockroach in my hotel room, and there's a few crawling outside at night at the...

Great family run hotel within walking distance to the wharf where the fisherman bring in their fresh catches of the day. Rooms are comfortable, bathrooms are big with plenty of hot water but Internet access is very limited. Breakfast is also average but filling. Highly recommend the Tupa Hotel for travelers who'll be staying for 4 nights or less. Slept...

Yes ....it's not the Hilton or the Marriott you find back in the states but you definitely get your money's worth. All you really need is a place to lay your head at night. Location is perfect 5 minute walk to the town center. If you have not booked your sight seeing day trips the front desk will gladly do...

I really wanted to give this hotel a better rating: This is one of the most affordable hotels I could find on the island, and I stayed there for 4 nights. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful - they helped me booked various day tours and taxi trips across the island. I had free transfers between the hotel...
