Let me begin by saying that if you want luxury on Easter Island then you should go to the Explora Hotel. Period. You'll pay the price but you'll have the amenities you may desire. However, if you are looking for a moderately priced hotel that is perfectly adequate but a bit quirky the Altiplanico is worth your consideration. First of...

This hotel is around 7 years old, and being in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, is beginning to show the effects of humidity in the bathroom. Other than the bed being so low that my arthritic knees had a hard time getting in and out, the hotel was very nice. The grounds were pretty, the bedroom even had mosquito...

Our travel agent booked us in to Altiplanico The hotel is a series of well maintained cabins. The dining room was about 1/2 a km from the ocean with lovely views including a Moai. The hotel is an interesting 30 minute walk from the city centre along the ocean front with some very interesting Moai sites. The sites made more...

I stayed here with my wife for our honeymoon last April. The staff was very friendly and the hotel is nice but they have a serious problem with the insects. We had every day our bed full of ants and little spiders. We told that in reception and they said it's normal. I can understand to find some bugs in...

We stayed at this hotel after moving from another hotel cabanas pikeri uri. Hence we'd like to compare these two - one cheaper but more local while altiplanico is a more luxury one. First altiplanico contains a worthwhile luxury look and condition but we felt less personal touch compared to pikeri. Second the view at altiplanico has great view similar...

It cost 3times the Price of Restaurants in Hanga roa Center. Apart from that, they Show Prices only in US Dollars! A Beer e.g. 6$.

I stayed here with my parents (I'm an adult) for 3 nights in February 2016. We were in rooms 1 and 2. As you can read below it's a little ways out of town but the walk is easy and nice by the ocean. The food was excellent, much better than what we experienced in town. The wifi is indeed...

The initial welcome from reception was very warm, accompanied by a refreshing, chilled fruit drink. The individual room, in the traditional shape of an inverted boat was basic, but clean and spacious. As I entered the room an overpowering smell of pesticide warned me of the invading night creatures. It had mosquito nets over the bed, ceiling fan and a...

Hotel Altiplanico is an extremely good hotel some way out of the town of Hanga Roa. The web site says that is “4 km away from downtown Hanga Roa (which is about correct) - a 10 minute walk” which is a very rapid walk! In fact, it takes at least 30-35 minutes to get to the edge of the town...

My husband I stayed here as part of the National Geographic Easter Island extension after our trip to Antarctica. The staff is really friendly and the location and the views as well as the property itself is just gorgeous! The food is wonderful and includes lots of fruits, veggies and deserts, though the breakfast was limited. No hot selections really....
