We are seniors and spent three days here. Rooms are individual cabins. Porch to watch the wildlife and own Jacuzzi. Delicious organic food in main lodge. Don't miss the cooking classes with Andreas. Great spa. Walking trails. Everything but the weather is perfect. Three days of teeming, torrential rain. Arnay, the manager, has done everything possible to make our stay...

I just finished bringing a group of 19 people there. The land is stunning and the employees are very friendly and are very willing to help. The food is rated 5 star and the cost is also 5 star - $25 for a quesadilla at dinner and $18. for 3 small scoops of OK ice cream. I am one who...

Dear Shantipeace, Thank you so much for celebrating our impeccable natural surroundings and our staff’s caring hospitality. As we communicated to you during your stay, we sincerely regret the problems with your Villa’s gas heating system. Since you turned down our offer to relocate you to another Villa, we were glad to provide the refund. We sincerely thought that relocation...

I endorse all the good reports of this place and will not repeat them. This is a quietly elegant, understated place to spend 2/3 days with great pleasure. The food is excellent and there are good walks to do. There are one or two niggles I mention which, if attended to, would improve the overall experience. I think charging $3++...

El Silencio Lodge is a very special hotel. Its cloud forest setting is timeless and tranquil, and an atmosphere of calm prevails throughout the property. This is a place to completely unwind. Yes, the weather is unpredictable, but between the spa and our private jacuzzi, we did not mind the rain. Our suite was light, airy and extremely comfortable, with...

We have just spent 3 nights at El Silencio. It is always easy to blame the Lodge for the weather, but it is in a cloud forest so be prepared for all weather eventualities! Thanks Chris A.! We are delighted in celebrating with you nature's serendipitous intensity. The cloud forest is a singular setting and it is an honor to present it with with Costa Rica's warm hospitality. We loved the staff but want to let people know a little detail. It is not close to the airport, so you have a drive and are in the middle of no-where. Be prepared for rain. There isn't much to do - no TV. Being near mountains you will get the evening dampness. They have a little room heater. No...

My friend and I booked an "Amigas" package, then spoiled ourselves by upgrading to a villa.
