The place in itself is beautiful. But what I liked the most was the location of the rest house where it is situated. The place being amidst the hills and adjacent to the beautiful lake made my day. The rooms were really clean and tidy and even had electric kettle which is generally rare in tourist rest houses. Really good staff and well organised and well managed.
I really liked the helpful and cooperative staff and yes not to forget the most helpful person who even guided us during our trip to the places in the periphery to visit... The manager Mr. Patni. The food was delightful! Something that I look forward to before checking in is the cleanliness... N this has it! Staying here was worth it!

We booked this accomodation online after reading lots of reviews but were extremely disappointed. We booked Super Deluxe double bed room, which has highest tariff, but were surprised that the room given was on first floor and with extremely basic interiors. First thing we complained about was dirty blanket covers, which was promised to be changed after a day but were never fulfilled. Towels had stench in them. Bathroom drain was blocked and water will stay for 15 minutes after each bath. Parking is just enough for 4-5 cars. On the morning we needed to leave early, our car was blocked from all sides and we had to maneuver hard which wasted precious time in the morning. Breakfast and dinner was included in map plan. Breakfast was served at 9 30 am and dinner at 8 30 pm, which was quite late according to us. Breakfast was ok, but dinner had so much chilly even after giving feedback. Kids could hardly eat any dish and were mostly surviving on plain chapati or rice. Some staff members were cordial and sincere while one was particularly arrogant and ill mannered. There was some VIP staying during our visit and entire staff was busy making them feel comfortable, leaving others feeling ignored and less important which should not be the case. There should be clear indication which rooms are super deluxe, deluxe etc. Else there is high chance someone paying good amount getting inferior room. Also, they should do something about decongesting parking and approach road so people can freely commute from hotel. My personal advise is to stay at Nanital or Bhimtal and take room-only plan so you have option to eat out.

Home away from home. We spent three nights at this Tourist Rest House on this new year eve; and we got back much more (better) than what our expectations were. The location over the lake amidst the kumaon mountain range; reflection of the hills in the still water adds to its serene scenic beauty; every morning wake-up call by the chatters of the ducks, the simpleton staffs with their gentle, polite and helping behavior, good food....we are just mesmerized.
