Built in the 1920s by the king's cousin, Nimmu House is emblematic of the cultural heritage of the Himalayan region, its history, legends and tales passed down from generation to generation. Its renovation into a charming guesthouse helps contribute to the preservation and enhancement of the cultural heritage of Ladakh, creates economical activities for the villagers of Nimmu and responds to a growing demand from travelers for authentic and comfortable accommodation in this remote Himalayan region. Untouched by urban life, the pristine natural landscape allows you to relax in a serene atmosphere. It is the ideal place for relaxation and outdoor activities : walking or trekking in the valley of Sham, gardening in the orchard, yoga and meditation in the mountains, river rafting, etc. It is also a perfect playground for children. The Nimmu House team is predominantly of Ladakhi origin, who work together to make you feel 'at home' in the heart of the Himalayas, delivering a tailored and bespoke immersion into the family culture of rural Ladakh. On arrival, you are met by the French manager who welcomes you with an intricate explanation about the house's history and architecture. Nimmu House offers five Ladakhi tents scattered throughout the orchard, and a bedroom in the main house. Meals are prepared exclusively with products from the gardens and surrounding areas. From the moment we arrived at Nimmu House we felt at home. Indrani, Vikram and the rest of the staff were so welcoming. The rooms were cozy and beautifully decorated. Eating in the garden was a delight and the food was (very) delicious. Nimmu House was the start of our trip but we've remembered it fondly for the duration of it.

A big shout out to Indrani and Vikram for their hospitality, love and care along with the other staffs …. Sher Singh. Our stay at Nimmu house was wonderful. The place, the people and the food everything were great. Our 7yr old daughter, Jiu even enjoyed staying at Nimmu House. Jiu played all through out the day with the 3dogs - Ena, Slow and Zero, and collected apples and nuts from the gardens. Me and my husband relaxed, enjoyed the nature. The food were delicious…. Specially those apple momo, sea buck thorn juice, Apple cinnamon iced tea, farm fresh salads. Along with this we got to meet other guests, chit chat with them as well as with Indrani and Vikram. Indrani and Vikram took care of all our needs and requirements. I highly recommend people to stay at Nimmu House to make their Ladakh journey memorable where you can relax and be with the nature, you can also visit nearby places like Alchi monastery…..Go hiking to the Nimmu village. A quaint place in the middle of a small village in Ladakh. A good blend of homestay, luxury boutique, local influence all put together. Indrani was a great host and the food they served was pretty delicious. We had opted for a 3 course set lunch which was setup next to a small water stream under apple trees. All the ingredients were apparently sourced from their own farm and must say looked and tasted amazingly fresh. One of the few places in this northernmost area of India which have few wines to go along with your food. Will strongly advice that you book the place before arriving as they don't take walk-ins usually. The rooms while we didn't stay looked luxuriously done. The cost ofcourse is on the higher side but then this remote, in the middle of nowhere things are bound to be expensive and I think it also helps them maintain the upkeep. Highly recommended.…

We stayed at Nimmu 4 nights and everything has been perfect and lovely. Managers Indrani and Vikram and all staff (Sonam, Subha, Tiger) are extremely kind and attentive. Rooms are beautiful. Dinner and breakfast delicious. One of the best hotel we have been to in India. We strongly recommend.

The location, the tranquility, the hospitality by Indrani, Vikram and team, the delicious organic food from the land, the history of the beautifully renovated farmhouse and the land, the breathtaking landscapes and hikes - certainly one of the most special travel locations and places my wife and I stayed at to date. Couldn't recommend it more - an one in a million boutique hotel in the heart of Ladakh.

Nimmu House is a true gem nestled in the quaint village of Nimmu (about a 30-minute drive from the Leh airport). The food is spectacular; the hospitality is so warm and inviting. They are doing boutique hotel right--sustainably and culturally present. We stayed in one of the tents and it was perfectly peaceful. I am so happy that we chose to spend our entire vacation at Nimmu House! We were able to book excursions through them to explore monasteries and hikes around Ladakh and Leh. I highly recommend staying here and I will definitely return! Thank you so much to the Nimmu Team--y'all are amazing!

This place gives you the real essence of ladakh with its old heritage property but with ultimate luxury and comfort. Food was amazing and staff was very polite and friendly. Vikram and indrani owners goes the extra edge to make you comfortable.

The best decision we made about our trip - to stay at Nimmu House! First, the team - felt like we knew them all our life - so easy to get along, so so friendly and warm! Our heartfelt thanks for the experience to Indrani and Vikram, Shakti and Subba, Tiger, Maya and the rest of the team. The food here was incredible with almost all the ingredients grown within the compound. Next, the house and location - what a gorgeous property - we had a room in the house and a tent. Beautiful, beautiful! The fruit trees, the birds and the mountains, eating al fresco under an apple tree - this experience will stay with us for our lifetime, Thank you!

A beautiful, scenic, property maintained and managed by possibly the nicest people you will come across.. Nimmu House gave me and my family an experience we will never forget. The hospitality on offer by Vikram and Indrani's team was fabulous. You don't need to worry about anything once you are in Nimmu House as their staff will take care of everything. A wonderful place to be close to nature, disconnect with the world and rejuvenate yourself. Each and every member of the team will go out of their way to make you feel extra special, which for me adds the special charm to this place. What we enjoyed over the course of our 3 day stay cannot be described in words but will forever stay in our hearts. Nimmu House was definitely the highlight of our trip to Ladakh. I will definitely return in near future, this time for much more than 3 days. P.S. - when you are there, do check out their in-house furballs, Slow and Zero.. oodles of cuteness. ❤️…

Dear Nimmu house, your place is the best we have ever seen in India. We loved the nature, the river and its sound, fruit trees, the stone terrace, the house also with yoga room, tentes and how they are prepared with care. And particularly each of you was the best side of our experience. Each moment will remains in our memories for a long time in Delhi, in France or another part of the world. For sure our daughters Agathe and Emmanuelle were like at home with their (yours) dogs and puppies, in the kitchen of "mum" and playing in the garden.
