Saturday evening dinner.... second visit and we were impressed. The food was all very well presented and it was all delicious, no complaints from anyone in our party. Good buzzy atmosphere, my only criticism was the lighting, too harsh and bright.

We went here with friends and whilst enjoyable it had a few oddities around it. The starters were delicious, two of us had the crispy egg and salmon, one had the vegetarian option which was apparently delicious. The chicken on toast was the disappointing one with chewy cocks combs. Three of us ordered steaks, which became an issue. I ordered... More

For our wedding anniversary celebration (46th) we decided to have dinner out at The Miller. We were worried that being a Monday night we would be dining alone - not the case. The meal was superb and Nick and his team produced a superb menu selection for those of us dining that night. This is one of our favourite restaurants... More

Attended as just happens to drop in for lunch on a Thursday. They have a set menu which was very good value for money. Had the wood pigeon breast with braised red cabbage... They didn't ask how I would like it, so it arrived medium rare as opposed to rare which is how I would have preferred it. Not terrible.... More

NB No parking ... so please be mindful - if you take the road past the church and drive along you should find some but suggest ladies with heels are dropped at the door and the driver does the walk!!! It was a birthday meal for 4 so we booked ahead and were given a table in the window overlooking... More

I have just stayed here for a night while my husband ran the Autumn 100 which started in Goring. The staff are attentive, friendly and professional throughout. I stayed in an attic room which I would say only suits sole occupancy rather than a couple but it was warm, cosy, clean and well equipped ticking all boxes for my requirements... More

Wife and I spent two pleasant nights at the rather quirky Miller of Mansfield to meet some elderly friends. All the staff we met went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The Miller is a charming old building situated on a bend of Goring's main street. It is barely 200m from Goring's bridge with its pretty islands, weirs... More

Lovely place; only 3 parking spots (but we got one!) Reception very pleasant, room small but tastefully decorated with all amenities. Ate in pub rather than restaurant (my choice) food brilliant (small portions but beautifully cooked) end of evening pub got noisy and some of the locals a little unpleasant - gobby and argumentative. Ah well. Breakfast was superb. Great... More

What a lovely spot for lunch! This (gastro)pub was booked by our friends who lived nearby and had heard good reviews of the place. We were shown to a great table for four in the window (this was technically part of the bar as we had a dog with us ) Dog water bowl and "bonio" arrived as did our... More

This Old Inn was ideal for me as Goring is on the Ridgeway Trail and it was very welcoming after a long hot day's walking. The room was very comfortable, the ensuite bathroom was large with roll-top bath and huge shower head! Great wifi and coffee-making facilities in the room. The room did suffer a bit from the noise in... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Good Food Guide Readers' Restaurant of the Year Award 2016. 2 AA Rosettes. The Miller of Mansfield is the modern inn loyal to its 18th century coaching inn roots with a 21st century twist. Set in idyllic Goring on Thames, overlooking beautiful South Oxfordshire and West Berkshire countryside. Mary and Nick have dreamed of owning their own place and have long been searching for the right establishment. Whilst the food reflects Nick's love for simple but elegant food prepared with care and giving ultimate respect to the raw product (3rd Best Thames Local Restaurant Award), Mary takes time to consider the wine list & real ales that she is passionate about (CAMRA Pub of the Season 2015). Our 13 individually designed rooms and family/luxury suites offer flat screen digital televisions, marble bathrooms, organic luxury latex and pocket sprung mattresses, Ren toiletries, slippers and robes (on request). The local area is full of activities for all. From magnificent stately homes and National Trust, to Royal Berkshire shooting school (RBSS), shopping in Oxford, Henley on Thames or Reading (not forgetting to mention the Henley regatta & festival) and racing at Ascot & Newbury) there is something for everyone to enjoy. Boat hire on the river Thames can be arranged. Also within a short walk from the Ridgeway, Goring & Streatley Golf Club, Chiltern Aerodrome and close to great cycle paths, The Miller of Mansfield is perfectly located to accommodate all occasions.
