Amid so much chaos and lockdown in Delhi NCR due to sudden spike in Covid cases in April, my search for a remote, isolated, safer yet comfortable place in the hills landed me at The Buransh Kausani. A close friend recommended it who knew the owner Threesh Kapoor.

My family of four stayed at The Buransh for 1 month and 7 days. It was one of the best time I spent with my family and nature in a very comfortable and safe environment. The location is awesome, well connected yet nestled between forests, orchard, animals, fields and overlooking majestic Himalayas. The full glass windows in the bedrooms offer an outstanding view of wide and clear range of Himalayan peaks making every morning refreshing and delightful. This place offers one of the best views of Uttarakhand Himalayas. Rooms and facilities are grand, modern, comfortable and well maintained. The WiFi and 4G connectivity is good for work and online stuff.

The company of owner Threesh Kapoor and Mrs Kapoor made our stay all the more enjoyable and homely. Threesh Kapoor is one of the greatest photographers of Uttarakhand Himalayas and one can enjoy huge collection of his photographs all over the resort. Threesh Kapoor is also active in modern agricultural initiatives that is helping many farmers and locals to grow quality cash crops using latest agricultural techniques including financial support from government bodies and CSR activities.

Despite very difficult period for hospitality sector, The Buransh has kept its name and service for nature loving visitors. The food was fresh, homely and vegetables mostly inhouse and organic. The service staff was very nice, efficient and helpful. The caretaker Ganesh became my local guide for all my evening nature walks and trekking trips. The helper Narri doubled as my caddy as I tried to drive golf balls from a green patch to the slopes downhill.

The Buransh is full of fruit trees like Apple, Peach, Apricot, Strawberry, Plum, Kafal, Kiwi etc. Variety of Birds, flowers, step farming, tea gardens, villages surrounding this place are a real retreat for any nature lover. There are umpteen options for trekking and nature walks. One can even indulge in gardening or working in fields with village folks. There is well stocked library for book lovers along with many indoor games like pool table, TT, yoga room, carrom etc.

I strongly recommend The Buransh at Kausani for people who are looking for a comfortable stay amidst natural environment and peaceful surroundings.

I was here in the first week of March, together with my husband and fellow photographers, to attend a Himalayan Landscape Photography Workshop, mentored by eminent photographers such as H Satish, Gurdas Dua, Anil Risal Singh and Threesh Kapoor ji himself. We spent a memorable four days at this heavenly abode. The property is very well laid out. Every room has full view of the Himalayan peaks such as Mount Trishul, Nanda Devi, etc. We never got tired of looking at the varying landscape every minute of the day. The gardens attached to the property had lovely peach and buransh blooms.
Food was very yummy. Afternoon tea was a ritual to look forward to, especially considering that the weather was very cold.
The icing on the cake was of course our ever gracious host, Threesh Kapoor ji. He was always there, enquiring about the well being and needs of everyone. At every single meal, he would go from table to table making sure that everyone is comfortable, before sitting down to eat his meal, that too, only after everyone had finished.
The surrounding places are worth more than a visit.
I loved being at the Buransh and will go there again and again.
Thank you so much Threesh ji!

Each room has a large window with a beautiful view of the Himalayas. The hotel is designed quite well with lovely wood designs and architecture. The best part of this place are the hotel owners ~ they are friendly and helpful; we very much enjoyed getting to know them.

Bring your camera ~ there is gorgeous scenery around the hotel. You will be able to get lots of pics of the Himalayan mountain range and hills and valleys. Many places for nice walks and hikes.

When the main cook was on staff, the food was very tasty and there were many options for food. Much of the fruit and vegetables are grown on the property, so they taste fresh and natural.

Due to COVID, there were less staff than normal. With the staff that they had, the hotel kept up with cleaning as regularly as they could; when we asked for anything, it was provided to the best of their abilities. What more could we ask for?

It was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. We hope to visit again soon!

We stayed in the family suites at the Buransh and woke up to absolutely stunning views of the Trishul and Nanda Devi. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, service is good. Mr Kapoor, the owner, personally catered to every guest and is a wonderful and warm host. The Buransh hosts a lot of activities too - photography or art clubs.
The only catch is the approach road. It's quite steep and is quite long. Climbing up this road, by walk or by car, isn't easy and it locks you in within the resort premises.

Excellent in Kausani

Location is not crowded and facing snow peaks.

Rooms are spacious and well appointed.

Staff is polite, courteous and provide good service.

Great good, with excellent local food options if asked for.

Only potential negative is the slightly difficult approach to enter the hotel. Not at all difficult for a confident driver.

Paradise for nature lovers….Hills in the monsoon weather shows its true beauty, from a beautiful view of mountain range- Trishul, Nanda Devi, and the mighty Panchachuli peaks to beautiful monsoon clouds engulfing the hotel. You can enjoy all this even more if you stay in a beautiful and comfortable place like “The Buransh”. We were lucky to be hosted by Mr. Kapoor and his team. We stayed there for 5 days and not even once I felt that I am in a hotel. Home away from home is the best way to describe it. There is so much of personal space that we didn’t have to worry about Covid at all. Entire staff is involved in every aspect of the services they offer. Food was delicious, rooms were perfect, ample parking, huge garden, fruit orchards, home grown vegetables, beautiful & serene view. Added advantage of 4g network availability. It even allowed me to work and take calls comfortably. Rooms are large and spacious with huge glass windows for uninterrupted view of Himalayas. All in all a wonderful place to take a vacation & relax. Thank you Ganesh ji, Hemant ji and all other staff members for making our stay memorable.

We visited Kausani and stayed at the Buransh in Dec 2021.

Our parents have been visiting Buransh every year for multiple years now - as if it were their second home. We had heard so much about this place, that it had become a must see for us. So this time when we visited India, we planned a family Kausani trip at the Buransh.

The drive to Kausani was beautiful, but I must say, the destination itself surpassed all expectations! Words fall short as you sit in admiration of the great Himalayan range that you can very clearly see right from your room. A perfect retreat to wind up by the cozy fire and read a book, a heavenly serene landscape to bring out the artist inside you and unmatched hospitality to win your heart! The owner himself personally meets and greets every guest and ensures their comfort. His evening photography slide shows takes you to a world that one could only wish to ever visit. His knowledge of the local geography, culture and history is deep. Spending time talking to him, learning from his experiences and listening to his stories was an unforgettable part of our trip. Now we know why our parents view Buransh as their second home.

Reserve at least one day to walk around the property, see the green house, the farming, and walk to the nearby huts (less than a mile). Spending time with the very friendly locals there will leave you with beautiful memories.

Buransh provides a cozy and comfortable stay with multiple sight-seeing and tourist destinations at driving distance. We loved our stay at Buransh and did not want to leave. We will surely come back any time we can.

I have been visiting Kausani quite often and this was my fifth trip but first to Buransh. Came this time to attend 8th Himalayan landscape photography workshop. To my pleasant surprise the Buransh is just incredible. One can see the mesmerizing panoramic view of mighty magnificent Himaliyas from the room window by just sliding the curtain. Hospitality of the staff was par excellence and each & every comforts are personally supervised by Mr Thireesh Kapoor ,the owner of the property. There is a well stocked library of Uttarakhand art and culture. The walls are well decorated with jaw dropping photographs of himaliyan landscapes having a story behind each frame which Mr Thireesh Kapoor can narrate for hours together. Food is delicious and atleast one dish will be from Buransh's organic farm. I almost gained 3 kg in my stay of four days & that's the testimony of quality of food... Rooms are spacious and linen spic n span.
8th Himalayan landscape photography workshop was conducted in a professional manner under the supervision of best names of Indian photography.
My sincere thanks to the family of Buransh and Mr Thireesh Kapoor for creating such a dream resort.
