Detailed Reviews
Kausani is a small picturesque village in Kumaon Himalayas.
KMVN resort in Kausani is at one end of Kausani. It is around 2 kms from Anashakti Ashram. Being at such a remote location has given it a certain charm in terms of the views of Nanda Devi range. The resort itself is spread over large undulating landscape with great views from several vantage points. It is difficult to explain the experience in words.
Rest of the things like service, food etc. are all great. Overall, fantastic place to stay in Kausani.

Pretty standard of what you can expect from kmvn. I stayed in the cottage. It had a huge room with a double bed, an attached walk in dressing room, a sit it place with extra bed. The bath room was huge and had hot running water. Due to the monkey menace, which is everywhere in the lower hills, it is requested that you have ur food in the dining hall. However, on special request, they also serve it in your room. Staff are not professionals but helpful and courteous. Nice decent comfortable stay

1. If you are going in summer, check beforehand about forest fires. When we went in June, there was no view of the mountains due to all the smoke around.
2. In summer, their executive and deluxe cottages are like a tinder box because there is no window with net. And you cannot open the normal windows due to monkeys. Prefer a lower category room because they have better ventilation.
3. There is only one fan and no AC. Believe me you will need it in summer.
4. Tell them your order 2 hours before the meals.
5. Carry odomos or some mosquito repellent.
6. Although it is a government owned property, you can find nearby private properties at better prices.
7. There is a tea stall outside known as pahadi Rasoi which is a better source for tea and milk. Just carry an empty kettle or thermos with you.

The rooms for family which accommodate 4 are very old and desperately need upgradation. The paint is coming off, bathrooms are not in good state for the money they are charging and furniture in room is very old . would not recommend this one for stay for family
The in house dining facility is good and people managing it are friendly

The KVMN hotel location is just perfect. We stayed in the royal cottage and it was spacious with breathtaking view. The cottages are spaced out in a way that you have enough privacy. All your food and other requests are immediately catered to. Staff is very courteous and food is good. Must stay here if you plan a trip to Kausani.

+1
We stayed at the deluxe cottage and they were very spacious. Had a separate changing room and the balcony having sitting/sleeping option. No cleaning issues.
The view from the cottage was simply outstanding. On a clear day the entire range can be seen from the balcony or just infront of the cottage.
Tasty foods at very reasonable rate with non veg option available. We took half chili chicken which had a massive portion size. You can also opt room service for snacks.

Stated at the Royal Cottage on Oct.23. The room was very spacious with all modern luxuries. But the flipside is it is away from the Reception and Dining area and so would be troublesome for the elderly to reach. Again the view from the Royal room was obstructed due to large trees planted in front. The staff behaviour was good except one guy who was not willing to offer in room dining. The best choice to stay would be the Gandhi Ashram for uninterrupted views.

Best in town with great view of himalaya . Royal Cottages are at great location and would never forget the himalian view. restaurant service is slow but not the bad one. only minus point is the restaurant and reception is 0.5 kms away from room and its slopy ride so its hard to go back from reception
