We were 4 couples who visited the tooth mountain farms during the COVID pandemic to refresh ourselves and have a short break from the stressed routine and WFH mode of work.

It was a fabulous boutique place where we could get the whole property to ourselves and enjoy the hospitality of the great staff at tooth mountain who served us with some fabulously home cooked type farm to table food and ensured that all our requests were well attended and ensured our stay was worth the price that we paid.

We will definitely make it a point to book this property more often as it is just 90 mins drive from Mumbai and completely serene with well made large rustic village type comfortable rooms.

I would like to make a special mention of Chef Ranjeet who served us with everything we wanted and cooked one of the most delicious meals we have had for a long time. Also a special mention to their Manager Sandeep who was constabtly on his toes to ensure our stay was comfortable and all our request were well taken care with the best of services.

I celebrated my birthday at this quaint place which was at the heart of nature around 2.5 hrs from Mumbai.

Room: We booked the beautiful Basant Rani room. The room has beautifully done, colourful, tasteful interiors. The room was well lit and comfortable. The washroom area was well decorated, colourful and clean.

Recreation: The place has a well maintained pool, playing room (TT, Snooker etc.), swings, hammocks, adorable animals - a cute pet dog aptly called 'Lockdown, ducks, goats, hens, cows etc. There is a nursery from which we got some potted plants for our little home garden. The place leads into the Art Village where you can get a taste of culture. I particularly loved this place and it's activities.

Food: We had a mix of Indian, Chinese and continental cuisine. The food menu is limited considering there are 5 rooms but the food is delicious. Everything tastes so fresh. I particularly liked the Butter Chicken and Chicken Fried Rice.

Service: The service is top notch. Our manager Vaibhav, Steven and also Kunal did a fabulous job in taking care of us and making us feel special for my special occasion. I had a special bonfire and candle light dinner planned with my husband and the managers and staff took every step to make us feel warm with their promptness and politeness. I really liked the way in which Vaibhav and Steven deal with customers. Worth learning lessons on hospitality from them. Excellent!

Overall, a hugely memorable place. Highly Recommend to visit particularly from September to March. Thank you very much for making my birthday so special.

The Good: *This farm is gorgeous, surrounded by mountains and greenery. The best are the staff who are local people from nearby villages, very simple, sweet and helpful. Food is decent, healthy substitutes and many options are available. The kitchen staff are eager to please and accommodate requests!
The Bad: Rooms need cleaning! This was our first trip in 6 months and the pandemic anxiety was at it's peak. We saw the staff mop floors with a disinfectant, however no surfaces were sprayed with any disinfectant. We had the staff make the place a bit more liveable and used our own disinfectant to spray all surfaces!
The ugly: On day 2 staff agreed to make some Chinese dishes but said it would be extra charge as our contract only includes an Indian thali . I was confused as the proprietor had mentioned we could plan the menu (I actually had a WA msg saying the same). I sent a message asking him if he could look into this. The response was shocking! He said that he had given us the place almost for free, that he mentioned menu planning by mistake and that I could leave if I wanted. I wrote back letting him know there was no need to be aggressive and how'd I know his message about offering menu planning was a mistake. But he responded saying he did not have to clarify anything anymore and that I could leave! Having traveled around the globe, I can say with confidence that we have never endured this kind of rudeness, let alone from someone in the hospitality business!

Thank you sukruti for your version of the story, luckily i get to say my version too, so that future guests can decide and build the sequence of events that led up to your "horrible" stay..Sukruti started to send me essays on essays on WhatsApp from the time she checked in - i had given her a fantastic deal with meals included because it is the pandemic and we had just opened, currently our prices are 2.5 times the rate i had given her. Also for only 6 people we opened out all the five rooms to her..We have also started taking walk in guests for our sister concern property art village and there is a section of the restaurant where they can eat and dine, the in-house guests have been given a separate section, but no sukruti thought that for the monies she has paid me, she owns the entire 20 acre property exclusively, that would obviously cost a lot more money, also i am not the one who is entitled but she..we put in a lot of personal attention and detail to what we do, just because we are in hospitality industry doesn't mean that we have to say yes to everything..Sukruti kept complaining about the guests being in the restaurant on a sunday, and sent us photos of cowwebs which didn't exist..my 70 year old mother was luckily on the property that sunday, and she went and spoke to the guests, who were shocked at the immediate response and made a lame excuse that they saw cow-webs in the bathroom and someone was using the bathroom at that time..so basically we get it - the tactic of bringing up problems and complaints incessantly to get more things out of us..Yes, i might have mentioned curated meals, that is the only mistake i made, but realised later when i did my costing, that those would not be possible at the price given to the guests..I instructed my manager Sandeep to take special care of the guests, and hoped that by the next day they would settle down, but they didn't, the rants and the long essays on WhatsApp continued..Then as the owner of the property who was apologising to her at every rant of hers, i decided that i would have to show suruti a mirror, which no one likes to see..i told her that if she was so unhappy with the place and the maintenance (I am not saying this becoz it my property but in a remote area like this, it is one of the best maintained farm houses, and a lot of personal effort goes into it, with an army of staff) she could leave and i would refund her her pending amount..i knew that she wouldn't leave becoz the tactic of demanding more things by complaining had been called out and had failed....we want happy people to come and enjoy themselves..not complain about tomatoes and bindi and cow-webs which are the illusion of ones mind..Best wishes to you! and maybe on your birthday this was a karmic lesson, on how to stay humble and appreciate others efforts to provide you a luxurious accommodation and food in the midst of a jungle and village settings..but i don't expect you understand that!! BTW you can read our website our check in time is 1 pm and you got your rooms soon after that..we have been running a high occupancy..but due to only having 5 rooms on the property we are able to maintain high standards and a personalised service..all rooms are disinfected by Sodium Hypochlorite a WHO recommended Standard operation procedure.

I’m writing this review from the Basant Rani room at Tooth Mountain Farms. It’s nothing like advertised in the pictures on their website. I feel horrible that I booked this place for my wife’s birthday.

The AC is not working and the people/ staff here, though very polite and always available, are not able to help at all. It’s scorching hot outside and the room is full of big glass windows, creating a greenhouse effect with the AC not functioning inside. To top that, they have sprayed so much lemongrass room-freshener that it’s burning our eyes.

We stayed at the Art Village room last night (which is on the same property) and it was so so so much better. It was not only very smartly designed (they didn’t use big glass areas in the Indian summer but smartly gave it a mud house feel), but also very well maintained rooms. The Art Village rooms very spacious and neat with the AC working well in this sudden heat. Even the areas outside the room in art village have nice gardens and lawns and tress with sprinklers working all night. It gave such a nice cool feeling. But then we made the mistake of moving in to Basant Rani room at Tooth Mountain Farm.

I know this place is not a hotel. I do not expect any fancy service. Just a comfortable room would have been good enough. Please skip this place and please do not get fooled by the pictures uploaded on Tooth Mountain Farms’ websites or social media.

Hi Aditya, im extremely sorry for your experience, We are having problems with the AC especially during 12 noon to 4 PM - becoz of the intense heat wave of over 40 Degrees celsius, even if the ACs' are working it feels as if they are not..We are continuously working on maintaining the property and updating our equipments. We do not have central air-conditioning like big hotels, but individual split unit acs in each individual room, and sometimes they do give trouble. We Would advice you not to travel to us during these summer months, because the afternoons do get extremely hot..

Few key things are missing in this place.
1. Biggest thing is the hospitality is missing. There is zero interaction by the host / owner of this farmhouse. We saw the host on the day we left but there was not even a small gesture of a smile from the host
2. Rooms and the sitting areas outside the rooms are window dressed in the photos and in reality they are not as lively as shown in the photos but not bad either.
3. Its written that we can visit the art village adjacent to it but honestly that art village was so boring. There was no one around to accompany or assist it
4. Saddest part is the nursery. Its written we can buy some plants. However, the nursery was like a ‘Khandar’. There was no one to even guide us or help us buy plants and surprisingly there is not even a single flower plant in the nursery except for may be 1
5. The pottery activity is 500 bucks and is hardly for 5-10 minutes.
6. Food quality is good but again very expensive and service is slow. The meal package was around 3000 bucks per day per person.
7. The sitting area by the lake is nice with some cool breeze.

Overall there is not much liveliness in the property. Good if you want to just relax in your room. Otherwise its boring and not worth the money for stay and food.

Hi Vaidehi, sorry for your boring experience. We are constantly re-working to give our guest better experiences. Post-Covid, we have been experiencing a high traffic to the property, and something the personal touch can be missing, but we are trying our best..The food is priced according to the remote location of the property and the ambience. Bhau is in charge of nursery sales but has to be told to accompany you at the restaurant, if you want him to show u around the nursery, since he is busy with daily works. It a place to rest and get away from the hectic and social city life, and spend some time alone, I hope that we are make it up to you in the future..many regards, Shiv Sagar (owner of tooth mountain)

We were so excited that finally things are slowly coming back to normal and we’ll be able to go out for a small trip amidst the nature. So we began our hunt for a nice eco resort around Pune. We are very particular when it comes to searching for a good resort and do a hell lot of research before finalising a place. We came across Tooth Mountain Resort and we saw a few youtube videos and then we started going through the Google reviews of the place which were not the best. People were not very happy about the booking process, manager/owner’s approach etc. But we still gave the resort a benefit of doubt and made a phone call on 18th June 2021 to enquire. The person was very curt on the call, and told me to check their website for all the details regarding availability etc. and mentioned that the website is “up to date”. I was still okay with that and I checked the website and found the dates I was looking for(16th July - 18th July). So I made the booking online by paying the whole amount (INR 33,376/-) upfront and I got a payment receipt from the payment processor for successful payment. Everything was pretty normal till now.
On 28th June 2021, I don’t why but I was looking at their website again (we were super excited about the whole trip) and I saw that the rooms I had booked were still available on the dates I had booked it for. I was shocked to look at that because they only have 1 inventory per room in the resort. So I called the resort again and a different person picked up the phone. After telling him all the details about my booking he told me that I can see that you’ve made the payment in full but I cannot see any booking made! I was like, WHAAT?? :/ He told me, even before you booked the rooms, the rooms were already booked. So I asked him, what can be done about this? He blatantly tells me, there might be a “system error”, change your dates of the booking, I don’t have any other option as they have booked before you did. I was left with no other option than requesting for a refund and cancel my booking.
The moral of the story is even after reading all the negative reviews, I still trusted the resort and made the booking and they miserably failed. So please beware of their “system” and confirm at least 10 times after you’ve made the booking. I probably won’t visit the place ever again, purely because of the whole experience.

Dear ShubhamChouthai We did have genuinely have a "systems' breakdown, which is a rare thing to happen, and it was the first time it happened to us. All the bookings got deleted, and since it is difficult to get a booking at our place, as we are running on very high occupancy rate, immediately you might have booked and got a confirmation..which our reservation executive apologised about and could nt accommodate your booking since we already had guest bookings for those dates. This is a rare occurrence but it can happen, and we have nothing to lie about. If you are able to make so many judgements about the property without even staying there, then I dont think that's fair, there must be a reason why we are booked almost 2 months in advance on the weekends - HINT - a lot of happy customers!!! anyhow, we will be happy to have you book with us again and give you a truly tooth mountain experience..

I was behind my family right from the time I discovered about tooth mountain farms seeing their website and Instagram page and finally I planned to be there on my Birthday! It was a decent stay for us! We had our peaceful time admist nature! Saw a lot of beautiful birds and butterflies! The location is great! food was also good! We spent Rs.19000 approx for a 2 night stay for 3 of us (excluding food) which we felt was not justified! Things were different as mentioned on their website and I have listed below my likes and dislikes!

Likes -
1) Food was really good thanks to the chef and kitchen staff and was well priced with good quantity.
2) The surroundings are really beautiful.
3) The swimming pool was clean
4) Restaurant staff was friendly and gave a good service.

Dislikes -
1) Covid protocols not followed! No sanitizers in common areas! Staff should be wearing masks properly around guests!
2) No informative interaction from management with regards to activities or amenities.
3) Dint really find value for money stay.
4) Breakfast options were very limited
5) The day we checked in construction noise in the afternoon dint let us take a peaceful nap.
6) The bathroom shower dint work great! Very less water spraying out of it
7) Water leakage in the toilet
8) The indoor glass area with plants was unclean and there was no open to sky as mentioned on the website
9) we had a 2 night stay and the veranda was not cleaned by the housekeeping
10) Dint exactly get the feel of a farm concept with things mentioned on the website.

dear priyachuri, We are extremely sorry for your "dislikes" and thank u for the "likes" - after your review, we have personally hauled up the staff and kept a responsible person amongst them for making sure that everyone on the property is wearing masks.. we have sanitizers placed usually in rooms and at the restaurant entrance..we are increasing the number of them.. Since the property is old esp Parijat and Palash rooms, there are maintenance issues, we will surely try to do better next time, and hope that you we can make up to you on your next visit to us..

Tooth Mountain Farms is a 20-acre boutique property based on a farm stay theme. Tooth Mountain farm is located just near N D Studios, Karjat and it's 2 hours drive from Mumbai. This property has 7 unique suites rooms, natural lake, garden area, common area with board games and pool table, a restaurant, and a swimming pool.

I have been to Tooth Mountain Farm with my wife on the occasion of my wife's birthday. We have booked a Gulmohar room.
The room was really amazing with all the essentials such as King size bed, AC, attached bathroom, and a backyard with lush greenery.

The property is nicely managed by friendly staff and they are always ready to serve you better with a smile.
Upon my request, they arranged a nice candlelight dinner setup and it was a truly nice experience.
We really loved the food at the restaurant. We will definitely visit this place again.

You will need to check with the resort on rates but providing food for the driver should not be an issue. You need to advise the hospitality team in advance

Happy Independence Day to you too. I do not believe any room has a spectacular view. Privacy - yes. Take a room (one of the three) that’s away from the main house. Of the three, there is one which has its own balcony. You may prefer that. Do not recollect the names of the rooms. Recommend you carry some board games to keep yourself entertained or books to read as there is nothing other than a swimming pool at this place.
