Easy check in with great friendly staff and got room earlier than expected which was good.
Our apartment was a good size and definitely value for money for what we paid, the pool area was nice but the cafe seemed a wee bit pricey as were the restaurants up the road as well as the overpriced supermarket cashing in on a captive market. We used this area as a based to do sea activities in Fornells which is a short drive away , no complaints about accommodation it was very good it’s just an area I wouldn’t stay in again.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to give your opinion about your stay. We are delighted to hear that you found our team friendly and helpful, and that you were able to check in earlier than expected. It's great to know that you appreciated the size of our apartments and the pool area, as we strive to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay for our guests. We understand your concerns about the prices at the café and nearby restaurants, as well as the supermarket. Our location in a natural area with stunning views does mean that some amenities might be a bit more expensive due to the secluded setting. However, we do offer a buffet restaurant on-site with a selection of Menorcan and international cuisine for our guests' convenience. We're sorry if the area didn't meet your expectations, but we're glad that you found our accommodation to be of good value and used it as a base for sea activities in Fornells. We look forward to welcoming you back on a future trip. Best regards,

Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely sea view, but accommodations and premises could be improved. I was disappointed as there was no daily housekeeping, while on our third and last night breakfast food selection was scarce. However, pool is very beautiful.

We stayed from 6th-13th Aug 2016 as a couple with a 15 month old baby.

Upon arrival: Check in was smooth, quick and helpful. We were told that if hungry the buffet was still open and we could take plated food back to our room. This was well received with a over tired and whiney baby!

The room: They are well equipped with everything you need. Although no Air-Con. At first I was worried but with some thought we opened the windows and closed the shutters keeping out the direct sun light. The room remained at 23-25 degrees for the entire week which was fine for our toddler. The ceiling fan in the bedroom was very noisy so not an option for us to use to sleep, just as an aid to cool throughout the day. There are self catering facilities in the room so was perfect for us to get full use of the AI but also cater for our baby in our room too. From what we heard from the regulars, this year is the 1st year All Inc has been offered.

Food: You won't go hungry, however it is not high end. But you get what you pay for! A large % of the guests are still Self Catering so there is not a huge demand for mountains of food. Instead, there are a handful of options. (Meat, fish, vegetarian, chips, pasta, veg and salad)

Drink/The bar: We never waited more than seconds to get served and we were there in high season. All Inc include beer, wine, soft drinks, gin, whiskey, Bacardi and a couple of others. The rest are chargeable. Measures are good. The bar staff work hard and are great with the kids and friendly towards everyone. Again, drinks can be taken to your room which was perfect for us having the baby in bed.

The pool: A good size though quite cold. Even the baby pool seemed to stay cold for most of the day. Once in the water is refreshing but with little ones this can be a problem. Our daughter was ready to get out after a swift 10min dip with chatering teeth. The terrace area is paved so not slippery. The sun loungers are tired but are more than adequate. There are some umbrellas but these beds go 1st. We never went without though so there is no need to get up and reserve at 6am!! There is a pool table, air hockey and table football around the pool area and a kiddies play area too.

Evenings: There is no entertainment. For us, this was good for a 1st family holiday. We were confident that our daughter wouldn't be disturbed by loud music and screaming. At the same time my partner and I were able to sit and relax over a few drinks and a few games of cards. There are a few local bars and restaurants in close proximity to the hotel, so if a late and more sociable night is needed then there are facilities for this too.

WIFI:
This is €15 for a week. However the coverage is limited. Having an energetic 15month old we weren't able to access this around by the pool as we needed to be 100% focused. Nap times were a perfect time to log on but the coverage was so limited we couldn't access it from the room/balcony!

Safe: This also was a surprising extra cost. €20 for week. You may expect this cost self catering but not all inclusive!

Extra info:
- There are 2 supermarkets within 5min walk
- The bus stop is also within 5 mins
- The beach - 5mins (better beach is up and over the steps of the close beach)
- Water park at the nearby hotel
- A taxi to Fornells is €7 if you fancy a change. A harbour and a handful of shops and restaurants
Transfer from airport - 45mins

The most relaxing holiday we have had for such a long time. This quiet resort only has two hotels. The Tirant Playa hotel is comprised of accommodation blocks only two levels high, all apartments with beautiful views across the inlet with the sun shining by day and setting in the evening giving a beautiful glow across the hills.
The beach is a joy with a long stretch of shallow water and if you walk around the inlet, you will see turtles basking in the sun. Carry on walking and you come to a section of the Cami de Cavalls, a walking route that circles the island.
Back at our lovely apartment, there is an amazing large pool, with a sparkling clean restaurant providing drinks and meals and attended by lovely staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Loved their positive attitude. Similarly, the staff at reception were there to help with all requests. We felt relaxed and cared for. And last but not least our rooms were immaculate with fresh towels every other day; even lovely beach towels provided on
The kitchen was well equipped with a new microwave and hob; there was loads of storage space for kitchen items, clothes and paraphernalia.
Tut is a 30/40 minute walk into Fornells, a small harbour town with gorgeous restaurants and there is a timely bus service if you want to visit the larger towns on the island.
Absolutely loved TRH Tirant Playa and we can’t wait to return.

Great value, self contained accommodation within 3-5 mins of lovely quiet beach.
Apartment was clean and My balcony had a lovely view over the bay. Kitchen includes hob, sink, fridge, kettle and toaster. All the utensils and pots/pans seems new or sparklingly clean.
Didn’t use the bar or pool area but looked clean also.
Really great value. Thank you

We have just returned from a week at this lovely hotel and location and thoroughly enjoyed it !

The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms have everything you need, the beds are soooooo comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly.

The views are amazing (we were lucky enough to get a room with one) but if not just go to the pool and look out at the beach.

We loved the fact that this hotel is popular with many different nationalities.

We were self catering but did have a couple of breakfasts ( enough choice for a couple of visits) and a lunch in the hotel (quality of lunch was first class).

The team work extremely hard and nothing is a bother if you haven't got what you want then ask and they will try to accommodate.

There are 2 supermarkets close to hand (good if you decide not to hire a car)

We spent most of our days on the beautiful beach (make sure you go down the nature trail and watch the turtles, wild birds and dragon flies playing) but did walk to fornells and back (went on the old donkey trail, you need sturdy shoes and to be quite mobile) and walked back along the road (very pleasant walk), also caught the local bus into Mahon for the day - which takes about 55 mins

We did our research before going so got what we wanted/expected and came home very happy 😁 if you want lots of restaurants, bars and hotel entertainment late into the evening this is maybe not the resort for you - but if you want total relaxation in a lovely hotel and beautiful location then I'm sure you won't be disappointed !

The location was good, but far from 2 cities and the most popular and beautiful beaches.
There was nothing special in the room, but the bed was awful- soft and it was 2 separate beds…The problem is that all the beds in the hotel are the same... one large bed only in rooms for people with disabilities ... the hotel should warn about this because after booking we contacted the hotel so that they would give us a room with one bed. What was our surprise when we went into a bungalow for people with disabilities ... no one warned us about it. The room was bad, with the smell of humidity and chemicals, the bathroom was in poor condition that we couldn't even take a shower.
But many thanks to the staff that the next morning they changed our room and were kind and polite.

I’ve mixed feelings about TRH Cala Tirant. I had a very bad impression on arrival as I took a private taxi from a very early flight thinking I could sleep when I arrived. However, I was told I would need to wait for 5 hours to get the keys. Was that my fault for not reading the small print or the fact it isn’t made obvious

What really wound me up was a few hours of watching other Spanish speaking families get their apartment keys who had come after me. After not making a fuss and leaving to eat in a nearby restaurant I returned- only to watch the exact same thing happening, despite my asking about our apartment keys every now and then. After it got to 3pm I had to stand at the Reception desk and make it clear what I’d experienced and that I was now very unhappy that I was Still being made to wait. This older Receptionist then stated she did not speak English. This nudged me from exasperated to furious. I had to insist she contacted a manager. I was told quite nonchalantly she could not get hold of them so I had to actually direct her to keep trying! I had to ask for our apartment number, so I could go there to see for myself what the hold up was for my particular apartment. Eventually I got the key at 3.45pm and only because I had to work myself up enough to actually demand some attention ! It isn’t acceptable to have someone on a Reception desk dealing with European customers, who doesn’t speak English AND more importantly does not want to help and who either doesn’t have or intentionally pretends not to have, an awareness of what is going on. -I.e other Spanish speaking guests getting keys way before us -as explained. When an English speaking Receptionist then turned up it was explained some guests don’t leave on time. This is not an excuse. It is something TRH needs to manage. And a decent Receptionist would be aware of a family waiting for several hours watching others get their keys and would push to find out the situation/get something sorted quicker. I was given a very poor impression

Vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream in little pots are included in the AI. Lollies and ice creams like magnum, cornetto etc have to be purchased, and they are quite expensive at around 2.50-3 euros a time.

There is a bus service from Playa de Fornells but we went in May when it was still a bit hit and miss so we decided to walk it. It's an easy and safe path following the road down the hill out of Playa then along the Fornells Bay (past Ses Salines). It takes about 20-30 minutes sauntering walk and gives you lovely views across the bay of the sparkling water. You can also walk along the main coast back to Playa but it's not an obvious route and needs daylight and good shoes!! (You can see it on Google Earth maps if you fancy it). Granted you may prefer to take a taxi if you go to Fornells in an evening.
