We booked at Amarela for five nights on the basis of the great ratings on Trip Advisor. The hotel is very nice in many respects, and we would like to join the chorus of positive commentators. Unfortunately, our quite mixed experience prevent us from being so positive. And some appalling service oversights left us with some very negative feelings about...

Recently stayed two nights at Amarela, recovering from our brief-busy-but-brilliant visit to Dumaguete. It was the perfect oasis: quiet, but not lonely, unique & beautiful, but not over-priced. Easy beach access, with cool, clean rooms nearby. But I was most impressed by the staff. The service was thoughtful and genuine. It seems that the staff of Amarela truly enjoy their...

The stay at Amarela was a wonderfully relaxing and much needed break. The Long Vacation Package made it an even more cost effective and attractive proposition. The resort itself was beautifully designed and the gardens lovely to experience. The pool was great and amenities by the beach very convenient. Having the option to utilise kayaks and snorkeling gear was fantastic...

I stayed at this hotel with my wife, father and 4 month old baby. We loved the place - the hotel is beautifully designed and with plenty of character, the common parts are filled with artwork from the Philippines - so much so that it feels like a museum. The staff were courteous and friendly, and helped us with everything...

We stayed here for some beach time after touring in the Philippines; it is very relaxing, unhurried, lovely staff. Our deluxe room overlooked the gardens and the small pool, it was spacious and well equipped with a large bathroom containing bath and shower. The open-sided dining room also overlooks the gardens and it is great watching the geckos on the...

Amarela provided exactly what me and my family wanted....privacy, quiet time at the beach. Since we were here during the Holy Week, we wanted to stay away from crowded beaches. The shoreline is good....fine, clean, whitesand. They have a small infinity pool which my niece and daughter enjoyed a lot. The room and bathroom are big which are serviced everyday....

The Resort is really nice, cosy and relaxing. The beach is pretty small, but beautiful! The Staff was really really friendly! The food was good too..and their complementary breakfast is great! They arranged for us 2 tours, one in the countryside and the other one for island hopping. The tours were well organized and a fair price. I would highly...

Expensive for what it is. Pretty small resort but the other outdoor spaces are nice and quaint. Comfy reading room, with local decor, and roof deck with good views. Food was a bit inconsistent - great one day, average one day. Pool is good if not too many people in the resort and you can have it to yourself. Beach...

It's a hotel, museum and library in one! We were picked-up by their hotel staffs at the airport. Upon our arrival we're greeted by their mediterranean inspired hotel and works of art around. Indeed this place is dashing with colors from every distinct art displays-paintings, sculptures and carefully managed interiors. Moving forward from the lobby, the hotel has its own...

Honestly, we had a difficult time looking for a hotel in Bohol. We were surprised that their rates seemed to be pretty higher than in other Philippine destinations. Amarela was a bit higher than our usual hotel budget - at 4K a night. But we shelled out anyway since we decided earlier on that we want our Bohol vacation to...
