I stayed here yesterday and today with my family and we had such a relaxing time! The bathrooms are clean, the food was good and very traditional (they serve breakfast) and the host, Ileana, is sooooooo friendly and nice and has great energy! Paula (San Francisco)

My husband and I spent two nights at Pensiunea Teleptean in June 2015. Our accommodation was comfortable, but best of all was this family's genuine hospitality. Ileana and her family are very keen to please in a gentle and warm manner without being overbearing. The rooms are clean and homely, the food great and ample, home made and home grown,...

This very interesting hotel is run by a lady and her famiy. What a job they do, the food is excellent and the grounds are great. In good weather we eat outdoors in gazebo's (indoor when it's not). All the food is prepared on site and is delicious. The rooms are excellent. I'd highly recommend this charming facility for families...

Our two day stay at this rustic country guesthouse was definitely a highlight of our 5 week trip and 2 weeks in Romania. The owners were so accommodating and friendly even though their English was quite limited. We stayed in the newer 3 story structure at the back of the property and were on the top floor which was difficult...

Vadu Izei is a small village located close to the border with Ukraine. The B&B is in a rural setting on the edge of the village. You enter the B&B property through a timber arch gateway that is apparently traditional in the Maramures area of Romania. Another tradition is to hang pots on a bare tree near the entrance and...

Everyone in our group loved this little pensiunea in Maramures. The food was excellent, especially the wide variety of home made jams for breakfast. There is a very nice back yard with a large and small gazebo, benches and swinging benches. We had a great dance party in the large gazebo. There are chickens in a pen next to the...

Maramures is a truely unique place and Ileana and her family were wonderful hosts. We had generous portions of traditional recipes served with wine, horinca and my favourite, palinka every night. Donuts and pancakes were delicious deserts. Breakfast set you up for the day with ham cheese eggs etc of offer and copious jugs of excellent coffee. One evening we had a...

What made me more than 9 hours traveling from Bucharest to Vadu Izei ? One reason is longing traditions . We found that Maramures is considered one of the best preserved areas of Europe from the perspective of cultural anthropology and ethnography. When finally we arrived in this beautiful place , quiet and full of greenery and sunshine we were...
