Aside from the grounds and views, this place is overrated and feels very isolated. We stayed in a double room with private bath. These rooms are part of 3-unit cabins. There is ZERO soundproofing and the doors do not fit the frames, so we were rudely awoken every time the neighbors came/left. It would have been ok if everyone were...

We stayed a total of 7 days in a very comfortable, clean mini cabin with deck and hamac and wonderful views. The hosteria is set in a beautiful expansive garden setting. We enjoyed hiking on the trails on the property. It was a 15-20 minute walk downhill into town and a $2 taxi ride back. We hiked many of the...

Great facilities built up over many years by German owners. Nice cabins of varying sizes with a couple of dorms for budget travelers like myself. Quite a distance (a cab ride or a 45-minute uphill walk) from town. No shared kitchen facilities... you have to pay the very high prices of their restaurant for ill-prepared food. Felt more like a...

If you come to Vilcabamba this hotel is an absolute must. The views are spectacular, the rooms clean and smart and the food is served quickly, with a smile and is of good quality/ value. Taxi into town is just 1.5 dollar with a fast and efficient service and there are a full range of walks available from the beginner...

we could stay only one night in this hotel (booked up!). It is lovely and "granola-ish". We had a beautiful cabin with excellent views over the valley and mountains. They offer hiking/walks but we did not have time (sadly). Food was average. cost was above average.

Everything about this Hostería is great: the free yoga classes every morning (at the most beautiful and peaceful place you can imagine), the delicious breakfast, the perfectly clean rooms & bathrooms, the location, the staff, the pool... I spent amazing days there and will definitely be back soon!

Spent four nights here. I couldn't believe my eyes when we were led to our room (double bed with private bath). The grounds are beautiful and the accommodation was gorgeous - attention to detail and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the peace and quiet led to a lot of sleeping. The restaurant serves very generous portions, and...

Excellent stay in a cabin. View was amazing. Excellent bed. Bathroom was spacious. Plenty of hot water. Close to Vilcabamba. Onsite restaurant did an excellent job. Staff were accommodating and attentive. Great hikes nearby. So many good things to say about the place. The owners should be proud of what they've built as well as of the staff that they...

This Hosteria is one of the best place to stay in Ecuador. The tranquility is one of the main factor that makes of this place unique in Vilcabamba. The service is phenomenal, sometimes hard to find , but here you will find. Rooms are super clean with great views. The breakfast is the best we ever tried! Higly recommended!
