Dear all, I went for a weekend in Vilcabamba but I also need peace and time for me. So there in Madre tierra I had everything that I was looking for: beautiful gardens and house, hamaca, swimming pool, great food and a very good staff giving their best.

Rarely have I stayed at any property that I was so sad to leave. My 16 nights here could have easily slid into 30 or 40 had I let my desires win out over the need to move on. Every aspect of this property is outstanding: the accommodations, the service, the food, the setting, the spa and of course, the...

Came for one night but stayed for two weeks. Located an easy 10-15 minute walk (or $1.50 cab ride), about 1.5 km (1 mile) from the town square in Vilcabamba. We were welcomed by Gail in the wonderfully aromatic garden that is Madre Tierra. The place is spotless clean, the staff adorable who along with Peter and Gail bend over...

This is truly an wonderfully relaxing oasis. Our room was clean, spacious and had a very comfortable king bed. The views from the balcony were stunning. The little pools were great to lower the body temperature. The groundskeeper works hard at keeping the place looking like the paradise it is, the birds multiple birds chirping and the wafting of fragrances...

We chose #9, as friends of ours suggested after they stayed there for some time. It's at the top of 100 stairs and offers incredible views, space and privacy. I am in love with the baker at Madre Tierra, not only does she exude love in her eyes and give the best hugs, but she puts that love in all...

Beautiful, comfortable, clean, fabulous food, attentive staff, great spa treatments! Truly amazing to have everything perfect in one setting. Vilcabamba is a magical place and staying at Madre Tierra just made everything better. Quick walk to town or they will get you transportation to wherever. Can't wait to return.

Although we were only able to stay at Madre Tierra for 3 days, we were very impressed with the beauty of the grounds, and the warmth and helpfulness of the employees including the owners, Peter and Gail. The front desk staff were so helpful in helping us arrange activities in the area. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated with comfortable...

We stayed for a long weekend on a package! Enchanted would be the best description for our entire stay! The owners and staff were so kind and always available for wonderful service. The food was delicious! There were birds to enjoy as they sang in the fruit trees. Only the pool felt better than our amazing bed! The tours we...

Madre Tierra is an escape into a mountain paradise. From the lush gardens offering flowers of all varieties, to the lovely accommodations - this is a special place to spend time with family and/or friends. The owners of the resort are terrific in caring for the guests in a way, that makes one feel as if they are at home....
