First of all you MUST go to the Copper Canyon! Our guide took us to this amazing lodge where we met the Tarahumara runners, traveled into a canyon and drank and ate amazingly from the kind, wonderful people who owned and worked here. There is a sweat lodge and trials, just about

I intentionally made no reservations and by pure luck we met Luis at the train station in Bahuichivo. He only speaks Spanish, but my wife and I enjoy practicing our limited Spanish and we managed quite well. Luis offered us a place to stay in cabins and some tours and that's wh

"Semana Santa (Holy Week) is the busy season. If you go then, make sure you have a reservation."
"If available, opt for cabin vs rows of rooms. No matter where you are you will still hear roosters early."
"Ask about the meditation cabin. Also not sure if king size is available. We slept on two separate full size beds."
"When I returned, I will ask for the meditation cabin. It is further away from the lodge and has no electricity, but the setting on the edge of the canyon is incredible."
