We had great visit to Wallhalla this winter. All the rooms are beautifully furnished with homage to the traditional style of this gorgeously renovated 19th century farmhouse. Stig and Inge Marie connected us with local tours of the surrounding countryside by both dog sledge and snowmobile, in addition the fantastic breakfast and accommodations we have become accustomed too at Wallhalla....

This summer we planned a trip to the North, behind the wall, in Sweden, Finland and Norway. A plane took us from Brussels to Stockholm, where five Belgians filled up a car to drive them in two weeks to/from North Cape. We had a wonderful voyage through great landscapes, made a few stops in places that seem so ‘far away...

The Walls were so welcoming! They have repurposed Inge Marie's childhood home and in the process, they added all the modern conveniences while saving the wonderful architecture of a traditional Swedish farmhouse. The breakfasts were so tasty and bountiful! The first morning I was glad that since we were staying for four days I didn't have to try everything at...

If you stay you also must add the spa, a beautiful designed cosy room with the hot bath outside. Totally makes your stay. The bedrooms are cosy and comfortable. We also requested dinner which was lovely home cook and well presented. Fully recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Walhalla, a beautifully restored Swedish farmhouse with lovely furniture and furnishings in a delightful rural setting near Umea. We especially enjoyed the home grown/baked goodies for breakfast but also the delightful company of Inge-Marie and Stig. Weaving along with Inge-Marie in her studio was an additional treat for me. We can highly recommend Wallhalla.

I have previously reviewed this excellent B&B in Northern Sweden, which I use from time to time and certainly recommend. The reason for this review is to share pictures of an exceptional display of the Northern Lights directly overhead at the property this evening, a wonderful bonus. (But please note this is just a matter of luck, can't be guaranteed...

A very beautiful farm with a lot of history. Also the garden was fantastic. A perfect breakfast in a cosy room, and the hosts were very nice and helpfull. Cosy rooms, all very clean and nice beds to sleep on! So, please take a look at the website of Walhalla!

For me the whole idea of being a contributor (or reader) of TRIPADVISOR is sharing a good tip with fellow travellers. But sometimes it is so special that you feel you should keep it for yourself in order to remain one of the happy few! But the hell with selfishness - which is an ugly sin in Paradise anyway !...

Stig and Inge Marie's place outside of Umea was a wonderful mix of outdoors and office activities, with hospitality extending day to night. We had fruitful work meetings, celebrations, rest, and relaxation. We split our four nights/3days between productive times in the wonderful old farm house, winter walks in the nearby forest, XC skiing on the frozen river, and winding...

Staying at this period farmhouse in northern Sweden is a great way to relax, while also being a short drive from Umeå city and airport. Good shopping and cultural activities are available in Umeå city. The rooms and breakfast at Wallhalla are fantastic, in the authentic local tradition, and Stig and Ing-Marie are wonderful hosts.
