It's been a while since we have toured in France and La Goule Beneze reminded us of what we would look forward to, a small family-run hotel with an excellent restaurant. The rooms were basic but comfortable and nicely decorated. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant and it was reassuring to find that the vast majority of diners...

We have just spent five nights at Le Goule Benez. It is a very nice small unpretentious hotel which I heartily recommend. Clean, tidy, well maintained with a good restaurant and best of all a a very warm and cheerful welcome. Ideal for a stopover or a longer stay. Merci Le Goule Beneze pour les cinq nuits chez vous. We were made to feel very welcome by the English speaking owners. Good off street car parking and modern room facilities. Very comfortable bed. We dined in the restaurant in the evening and our meal was excellent. Great place to stopover en route the Dordogne.

Slightly off the beaten track, but ideal to break the journey if you're heading south. My teenage son did feel he was staying with his French teacher as there was great encouragement to parlez Francais including corrections of pronunciation but that rather added to our enjoyment! 3 bed room had plenty of space. Meal in restaurant was delicious.

I booked for eight of us for a Sunday lunch. We had choice of three menus and were happy to go with any but in fact we all selected the cheapest three course option based purely on the appeal of the dishes offered. The owner showed great patience and good humour in taking our order and answering many questions. My fish...

What a charming hotel this is! With a warm friendly ambiance we felt very welcome and at home which is rare to find. The room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had everything that we needed. We had a super dinner in the restaurant, which was packed and has a very good reputation with the locals. Would recommend this to...

66 Euros for the room. No 3 on first floor looking over rear patio and parking. Smart modern ensuite. Very comfortable. Dinner in restaurant worth trip on its own. Family run and very friendly. The owners met whilst working for Brittany Ferries and have some 10 years experience in building up the hotel and its reputation. The town has some...

We had a lovely lunch here on Easter Sunday having chosen the restaurant from it's good reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed, with our aperitif of Pineau we had an amuse bouche of turkey mousse with a finger of toast. It was delicious. Our meal was chosen from the €26 menu. For starters we both chose the Tartare...

I have been very loathe to post this review, but it has been praying on my mind for months. My family and I had an evening meal at this hotel in August 2014, because it was recommended by the owner of the gite that we were renting. My daughter and I ordered carpaccio of beef, which we expected to be...

We dined here as a family with our 3 year old son. The food was superb, the staff were extremely professional and friendly and our son was welcomed in a formal environment that he probably would not be in England. I had fish and a delicious and rather significant bavois. We were able to order a selection of three half...
