I stayed at Tropikist Beach Hotel last October for my birthday. First bad sign, I got a call indicating that was a leak in the room that was prepared and they had to place me in another hotel for one night. So I spent one...More
Having returned on the 19th March 2018 we loved Tobago and for the price we paid the Tropikist Hotel is good value for money. Excellent flights with Thomas Cook and a speedy transfer (hotel is literally two minutes away from the airport) but it doesn't...More
Bearing in mind what we paid we had a good time at Tropikist.
Taking into account the reviews we had seen before we left we were not left disappointed.the hotel is in need of renovation, evening meal is poor, bar closes to early 945 you cannot...More
We have just come back after 10 days at the Tropikist. Like may others I didn't go with great expectations having read the reviews and after experiencing the hotel I can honestly say I can see both sides. We were very lucky, we had a...More
We read recent reviews, but decided to make our own minds up. On arrival, super quick check in but then no porters. Went for our first evening meal, very average. Then we got into the groove of this place and really enjoyed our holiday. Room...More

Tropikist is a good spot, it's close to the airport and walking distance from Storebay which is a popular beach a bit further is peigon point beach and resort. if you can you should also take your family to piegon point, there is a fee to spend the day but it's not that bad for what you get. Family adventures i'd suggest you ask for Frankie if you are lucky enough to find him trust me he'll make it worth it, he'll set you up for the glassbottom boat tour to the reef, you will also get to do snorkelling if you choose to do so out there, then the nylon pool oh it's soo beautiful and the waters are pristine; you can then go on to no mans land and experience the little bbq of fresh sea food. If you are interested in jet sking Frankie offers this too as mentioned before, there is the Argle waterfall which is not conducive for a 3year old unless your an adventurous family and don't mind strapping up the little one and carrying him or her. If you have not purchased the 3meals package and only breakfast; please note that most places in Tobago closes relatively early so try and get your food for dinner and snacks and keep it in the rooms refidgerator other wise you may go hungry at night. You can go to Scarbrough check out the shops etc; if you rent a vehicle try finding a few different beaches and maybe visit the different forts along the way and take in the scenery and history. It would be wise to note that Tobago is very laid back and not the hustle and bustle of most islands you might find.
lastly I would take advantage of the property you will be at, it's beautiful and yes it looks just like the picture lol.

We find Some people on trip advisor are very pathetic with their reviews and moan about the most simplistic little things ( very sad people ) we are very experience travellers and have visited the Caribbean 24 times and only go b&b as we like to eat out and experience local quisine so can’t comment on the all inclusive aspect of the tropikist but found the breakfasts more than adequate ,, the room we had was looking out towards the pool and we found it was more than adequate for our needs ,cleaned everyday , we are not too picky or fussy but we do have certain standards and the tropikist fitted the bill for us ,, we used it for a base for going out and about but did also use the pool and jacuzzi most late afternoons ,, staff were very friendly and pleasant ,, what some people expect isn’t what others do ,, as has been mentioned before the tropikist is no 5 star. But it is pleasant and comfortable and you could do a lot worse , hope you enjoy it if you do book , don’t be put off by piccy people who expect the world for 3 star prices ,, oh and keep a eye on British airways . Com their prices are much better than anybody else especially in their sales , we paid £495 each for a week b&b in October , virgin are around £300 -£400 each more expensive , ba are much better flights as well their economy is the same as virgins premium economy which you have to pay extra for !!! Anything else please ask ?
