This place is just terrible. Even if the manager has been quite kind, I won't suggest it to my worst enemy. The personnel is lazy and unpolite, the restaurant is not suitable for a civilized person. They don't use towels and all the tables are dirty with visible stains on top. I had to yell with the manager to have them cleaned with a cleaning product and not just with a wet cloth used tenth of times without washing it. The food is unpalatable, overcooked and partially burned. You have to wait for have your bottle of beer opened because they can't find a bottle opener! and this sad show is repeated every day. In the morning the breakfast is also terrible, they serve what they want without even asking your preferences. Fried eggs are overcooked and hard eggs are undercooked and served so hot that you can't handle them to get unpeeled. How would you call a restaurant where the cook can't even properly cook an egg? Complaining is simple useless, the day after the same annoying and disrespectful attitude won't change. I blessed the day I left the place. Never again…
I was excited to see an elevator! The food was good, and the room was more than fine. I was very busy and not in my room much, but I appreciated how it was cleaned and kept up. I would definitely use it again. Oh, they also accepted a credit card, which doesn't always happen.
Checking in for one day turned to 5days coz the place is amazing. The investor had a very heavy yet good investment of the rooms, Spa, Swimming pool, Gym and conference. Sadly, the management of the hotel is so hazardously terrible, waking up to noise from the roof top swimming at 2am to a group of drunk campus youths. The manager, Mr. Patrick Toli, barely can control his own staff members. I witnessed staff members getting drunk at work and one who even broke into the bar at night to steal alcohol. The hotel is under terrible poor management. To add insult to injury, the assistant Manager, Vincent , will hull insults at a guest for a delayed bank transfer transaction. I was so harrassed by these too managers that I had to call 911 for help. I was at the hotel with my 6yrs old daughter and what we experience on the last day was so traumatizing that I literally fear getting into Thika just at the memory of the harrassment of these two managers. The harrassment escalated when Vincent, the assistant manager, tried to bribe the police men so that I can be arrested. Thanks to understand the Kenyan law and Constitution I knew my rights well. The kind policemen were gracious to settle the matter and allow my daughter and I to have peace and check out the following day. Long story short we are now in court and I can NEVER EVER, recommend any one to visit the hotel. It's a recipe for disaster, am glad am alive thanks to the intervention of police officer after I dailed 911. Sexual harrassment from the Operations Management is real and rejection is handled with brutally approaches. Sad.... Traumatized.... Distraught......... I fear city hotels…
