Owashi Lodge is a quaint and cozy "USA dormitory style" feel combined with Japanese elements. Staffs are friendly and helpful. (most of the staff are foreigners) and English is the predominately language - rooms are bunk beds. Showers and bathrooms are on different floors (men on 2/F, 4/F). Women's on 1/F and 3/F. Kitchen is well laid out and is...

Recently stayed with a friend at Owashi Lodge for a week whilst our other friends rented a villa. The place is simple, warm and close to the slopes (a few min walk) and has everything you need, we saved significantly by staying here and using the communal kitchen to cook breakfast each morning. There is a bar with table tennis...

Not being a 20-30 something year old I did wonder why my partner had booked me into what seemed little more than a hostel. As a couple that frequents rock festivals he assured me that I would love it. He was annoyingly right! We had a room with a bunk bed; double bed with a single over and had booked...

Having been to niseko grand hirafu 3 times, this is the best accommodation I've had up here. Grand Hirafu is divided into upper village (close to lifts) and lower village (slightly more restaurants). Staying in upper village is way more convenient. Owashi lodge is the closest a hostel/ budget accommodation is to the lifts. Makes the freezing morning hike up...

Owashi manager Tsutomu-san AKA Stormy is awesome professional guy and very energy and really loves to work at hospitality business. I had great room with great budge and with full kitchen set on 1 floor plus awesome basement with billiards, big screen TV, darts, ping pong tables, computers plus bar with professional bartender. Rooms are very clean, beds are good, heating is awesome, close to lift, has a drying room for snow stuff. Large communal kitchen - needs a very good clean though unfortunately I couldn't bring myself to cook while there due to the unclean, there was old food left from previous visitors as old as December in the fridge, the floor...

Pro's: During the off-season in Hirafu this was a very cheap option as a couple. There are laundry facilities (additional cost). Great location for access to both Gran Hirafu & Hirafu intersection for buses and restaurants. There was 1 member of staff, a Japanese guy with long hair who was very polite, helpful and accommodating. Con's: Extremely noisy. We were...

I just stayed at Owashi Lodge for a week, and the big plus here is definitely the location (so many TA reviews on this). The facilities are complete & generally clean, the common kitchen can be messy but I feel some users are not cleaning up when they should. As for the staff, I find them to be friendly, responsive...

Owashi Lodge was basically a place where season workers and staff were staying and not a hostel where you can meet lot's of other travellers. There was very little consideration for guests and it was difficult to actually know who was working there as no one seemed at all bothered about any customer service or friendliness. I have stayed at...

Stayed here for one night in January 2016. I will not stay here again, there are better options. The rooms are decent enough, bathrooms and showers are disgusting. The service is horrible. Aside from one guy that picked us up and another Japanese guy at the front desk, the rest of the staff is rude, unwilling to assist guest, and...
