I'm sure there is no other place more comfortable and convenient to stay in Niseko than Gondola Chalet. We were a group of 8 people, comprising 4 adults and 4 children, visiting Niseko during Christmas break to ski. The four-bedroom apartment was really spacious and well-equipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable e.g. dishwasher, washing & drying machine and storage room. The location is also perfect, only 5 minutes from Grand Hifaru ski lift & ski school, 2 minutes from ski rental shop and 10 minutes from convenient stores and restaurants. The heating system in the apartment is excellent and there's always hot water which is key during winter season. All in all, it was a very nice stay and we would highly recommend Gondola Chalet to everyone.
We spent a week at this premise with 6 people sharing a 4 bedroom apartment. The apartment (No 4) opens to a staircase and drying room on the ground floor. The first floor has 3 good size bedrooms, two bathrooms and a laundry. The second floor then houses the master bedroom with ensuite and a large kitchen and lounge area. This property is circa ten years old however we found it very comfortable place to stay. The apartment is within very easy walking distance of nearly everything. The heating was very effective, lots of hot water for the showers, and a quiet area to rest. The kitchen had a generous amount of crockery and cooking appliances. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the property.
The accommodation was very adequate and pretty charming. The location was great for the mornings, a short walk to the gondola station. It's not near town, making it quiet, but the main town can be reached within a 15-minute walk. Very good value for money
I stayed at the Gondola Chalets over 9 days, and it was a great and comfortable stay. The location is king here - it literally is a 5 mins' walk uphill in your ski boots to the Hirafu Gondola. You really can't beat that! The chalet is very spacious and has very large communal areas. The chalet I stayed in has 4 bedrooms, so there are 2 living rooms joined by a large dining room / kitchen. The bedrooms are smaller than the rooms I usually have in Niseko but that's ok as you will have enough space to put your stuff and clothes. The dry room on the ground floor has enough room to put all your gear, and I love the ample amount of hooks to put our coats, hats and gloves. I love that the kitchen has a large oven as well as a small grill which heats up quickly. Put a few fish in there for 1 minute and it's ready! I do wish that there is a better coffee machine like a Nespresso, but it's not a dealbreaker. The only bad point I would note here is that the design of Gondola Chalet isn't great for the snow. A large amount of snow is collected on the roofs (it wouldn't be Niseko otherwise) and over time it hardens and packs down to hard ice. Because of the design of the roofs the hard snow will slide off randomly. As a precautionary measure they have roped off the dangerous areas, but due to the houses' design there are some areas where you still have to walk under a few ledges which are precariously close to the ice and snow hanging off the roof. I would be very cautious while walking around Gondola Chalet. The other issue is noise. Because the chalets are built in a row and are "joined" together by a balcony that runs continuously on the second floor, if anyone else stomps heavily on the balcony, everyone in the houses can hear it. There was one night when the noise went on into the wee hours of the morning, at 2am! I was very miffed, to say the least. So do bear in mind the above two points. That's the reason why this place doesn't have 5 stars. Do also note that Gondola Chalet doesn't come cheap. In summary I like this place and will be back!…
Yes, the location is great with a short walk up the hill to the gondola and another smaller lift. But the units are sparse and quite plain. The floors in the kitchen and in the bathrooms are rubber. The showers are in the bathtub in a separate nook and look like they are made for a hospital. The beds are hard and the sheets and towels are rough. The kitchen is well appointed with many appliances, but the dishwasher is so small, you have to wash dishes many times. The Chalets provide no shuttle service, so expect long, cold walks to the grocery store, restaurants, and ski rental. Wifi is inconsistent and unstable. Nice to have the small washer / dryer. Housekeeping every few days. Good place for a large group staying on a budget if you are willing to sacrifice amenities and other conveniences. …
Perfect place to stay in hirafu. Close to the gondola, short walk to the Main Street, beautiful apartment with an awesome view and everything you need and even a ski hire shop at reception. "Harro" at harro's snow sports was fantastic, he looked out for us all week and made our stay very enjoyable.
Stayed at Gondola Chalets in Niseko with friends for a week . Had a four bedroom chalet with three bathrooms, it was ideal in a great spot overlooking the ski fields. The chalet was well appointed and pretty room by Japan standards. At the hotel next door you could get good coffee and also walk to many restaurants ... Recommended
Absolutely loved this place. We got a room to accommodate 8 of us and it was so spacious and homely! The team at reception were super helpful, got great ski and board hire, local food recommendations, and most of all, so so close to the hirafu gondola. Would definitely stay here again.
Fantastically appointed 4 bedroom apartment We stayed here with 6 adults and had ample space with great facilities for self catering. Close to all amenities- supermarkets, gondola to ski fields, restaurants, cafe. Manager and his family were so obliging with everything, helping with bags to apartments, ringing ski company when no-one picked us up for back county skiing, nothing was a problem.
Have booked this place again for 2017, it is just so good. Can't fault it. The only thing it doesn't have is it's own onsen. Was nice having your own drying room. David Harrow from Harro's Sports gave us such great service. Including lending us an electrical adaptor and 4 socket power board. Outstanding. "I'll be back".
