People are nice and polite and everything functions well - even making everything ready for typhoon went in routine...
Really liked the breakfast, view from the room, modern rooms and good amenities, pool area and especially the Hilton pool area next door that you can also use. The free parking space is also a bonus.

I read the reviews so i had high expectations and all of them were met. front office staff were professional and courteous and spoke excellent english. the room with a balcony was modern and large (esp the bathrooms, with 3 separate area, toilet, sink and shower/tub) lighting and aircon was perfect and quiet. I would return here if i was in chatan again, we had a few days rain but as the hotel was so comfortable we didn't mind staying there. Went over to the sister hilton hotel which looked also nice but much bigger hotel feel. the touris shop in the hilton was nice (there was none in the dbltree) there was a coffee takeway place though that was useful for a snack, coffee to takeaway. An excellent family holiday choice. Having moved from a brief stay in Naha, this was a much much nicer change. The Doubletree costs a lot more, but delivers. The location for the American village is excellent, you walk out of the hotel and 50 m up the road its all there. The staff are excellent and sorted all sorts of things. The room itself is a good size, only a little tight for our family of 4. The room was very clean. The TV is a tad bothersome, as all channels are Japanese (even CNN and BBC are voiced over into Japanese which is strange for a Hilton) so there is not much news to watch. The aircon is good. Note if you are ocean view, two rooms out of the entire ocean Side dont have a balcony and have a shrunken window so not true ocean views (this was us and its not ideal if you paid for an ocean view). The Laundromat on the 2nd floor is helpful in a humid place like Okinawa (300 yen wash, 100 yen dry) and the staff remove others items if sitting there. The pool is great, including a 2nd smaller one with a slide. The water is very very warm! The breakfast was not cheap, but reasonable. The hotel permits your use of the Hilton pool and gym across the road. You dont really need the pool as the DT pool is great. The fixed taxi price to Naha airport as arranged by DT is 4300 yen which is fair based on our taxi dealings. There is a currency conversion machine in the foyer, and an ATM is available at the Lawsons next to the other Hilton. Overall, very happy and a nice hotel which I would return to.

We stayed for one night at DoubleTree by Hilton. Upon check-in, we were welcomed by the signature DoubleTree chocolate cookie. It was declious but unforunately, not really warm. We booked a terrace room with sea view and it was large and very comfortable. The package we booked came with a 90-minute buffet dinner at Hilton Hotel, which was scrumptious and we got to try many signature Okinawan dishes. As a DoubeTree guest, we could only use the facilities in Hilton and we joint their sunset yoga class. The instructor was very friendly. It was conducted in Japanese, but body language matters the most in terms of sprots. Believe it or not? It was my first time trying yoga and the experience was pleasant in general. We also tried their buffet breakfast. The range of selection for food was wide and I recalled that they even had soft serve. The quality was good and worth trying. There was also a Lawson convenience store around the corner and the hotel was very conveniently to the seaside. If I have to pick on one thing about the hotel, I hope that there will be more activities for hotel guests to join and there could be counters selling desserts like sliced cakes for hotel guests :-) All in all, I really enjoyed my stay at DoubleTree and will definitely join again!

In all my years of travel, this is by far THE BEST staff of all. Every single aspect. So clean, breakfast was superb. This review is being written about a stay during the time of a typhoon. Even with crazy winds and rain, the location is perfect to have access to nearly everything you need. The knowledgeable staff knows all the hidden gem locations too for every appetite. CLEAN! Ridiculous clean hotel.

PCsing out of Okinawa was a very pleasant experience thanks to the team at the Doubletree. Everything was fantastic and it was easy to extend my stay when tickets fell through. My only complaint is that the amenities provided didn’t always match the number of people in the room.

The Double Tree hotel Okinawa Chatan is a nice hotel in the Chatan area next to a large Hilton. It shares facilities with the large Hilton which is next door. The Double Tree has its own pool, but so does the Hilton – the Hilton’s pool is much larger, but tended to be more crowded so I preferred the pool at the Double Tree. The gym is located in the Hilton and is well maintained albeit a bit small. The staff at the Double Tree is very nice, and I was upgraded to a larger room probably due to the fact that I have Hilton Gold status, or maybe because I was in Okinawa for a work trip, but I was pleasantly surprised at the size of my room. It also had a little patio with a decent view of evening fireworks which went off at least twice during my 6 day stay. A couple of criticisms: the hotel’s only bar (which aside from drinks only serves small snacks) is only open on the weekends, it seems it used to be open all the time before the pandemic, but now it’s only open Friday evening to Sunday; and while the outside roof venue is nice, there was only one person working when I went up my last Friday evening. The worker was also less than enthusiastic, overall I feel like they could do more with this venue. The buffet breakfast was decent, which was included in my rate (also because of my Hilton status), worth opting for in your rate if you get to choose. The Chatan area is a weird mix of kitschy U.S. themed stuff that attracts Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese tourists, and also seems to be the go-to hangout area for the U.S. military personnel stationed nearby. The restaurants are mostly mediocre, and the theme of the area is confusing. The architecture of the shopping arcade almost looks Mediterranean or Southern European, overall it’s all very cheesy. It’s fine the first couple of days, but after a couple more days I almost wished I had stayed in Naha where there is more local stuff and maybe better food. But that’s just me. In summary though, the hotel is a nice property, the staff are nice, the rooms are better than expected; and since I assume most of the people coming to stay in this part of Okinawa are coming for work, I think the hotel and the area would probably suit most U.S.G travelers’ needs. I would add though, if you're coming to Okinawa for vacation, stay in a different area.

4 out of 5 because rarely is anything 5. Check In experience was swift and easy. Front desk staff was fluent in English and VERY helpful. Room was large, with ample power / USB outlets. On premises breakfast buffet VERY pricey, there are plenty of options available in American Village (walking distance). Rooftop bar / restaurant was closed for the season. If we return to Okinawa, we would definitely stay here again.

We chose this based on reviews and proximity to American village. Got a terraced room facing the sea - the hotel is located at the beach front (just separated by a pedestrian path. Check in was friendly and quick, the room was spotless, huge and comfortable beds, hybrid Japanese style bath tub and overhead showers all in one amazing. Many USB ports and convenient controls for lights and stuff. Atmosphere on Saturday night was incredible, we watched beautiful sunset at roof top bar and cocktails, listening to the street musicians singing and surprised by the 8pm fireworks !! Breakfast was nice with good variety and fresh local and international produce. Too cold to swim. Free and ample parking - the best ! Walking distance to American village so can wine and dine till late. A suggestion: no in room dining may consider adding that option. Otherwise definitely want to come back.
