Our Kemah Tinggi experience with two families with small boys (four boys under 10 yrs in all) is a perfect getaway offering nearly all the Bali ambience and great care by the staff with super attention to detail.

The accommodations are just right for families with really young, or just young kids. Beds have side boards, pool has a fence with heaps of pool toys. TV room with loads of videos in case it rains, lots of appropriate kid food to choose from and car seats for travel as well.

The rooms are private with a wonderful central area to come together in the morning for coffee and afternoon drinks and dinner. We spent our time mulling over the world financial crisis and eating great food.

The services are great with massages available when you need them and for how long you need them (the reflexology is amazing!) and the touring with two cars if you need them is readily available.

The care from the on-site staff cannot be overstated. They are thoughtful, attentive and responsive. Always a cold towel after massages and lovely touches like fresh, lovely smelling flowers each day. If you have to pick a fault the serving sizes for the snacks and food are quite large, but how tough it that?!

Also geographically, though it is near the beach, these aren't swimming beaches for kids, the waves are very rough and undertow dangerous for all but the best swimmers/surf boarders. But the black sand beach is lovely and there are lots of treasures to hunt.

All in a 10+ trip. Just don't go during rainy season.

My family & I have just spent a wonderful week at Kemah Tinggi. This is above all, a fabulous DESTINATION for a family holiday. Should you have any reason to venture out of the villa, rest assured (traffic notwithstanding) that the sights and tourist traps are all within reasonable reach. That having been said, I thoroughly enjoyed the relative isolation of the villa from the maddening crowds that chip away at the beauty and mystique of Bali.

The property is excellent on so many levels, but I think what makes or breaks a villa stay, are the people. Starting with the owner Penny, who is responsive and incredibly accommodating to all requests and will more than willingly give you the best available advice for your needs and requirements. Then there is the incredible staff at the Villa. Led by Wayan, the villa manager. No request is too small and their dedication to the job and service excellence is unprecedented. (Feel like watching a movie? popcorn materializes! Want to watch the world cup? they install an antenna so you can catch the games available on free to air, but not on cable! Fathers' Day? Chocolate cake! Fancy something in the villa? staff will go out and buy identical pieces of craft etc. for you!)

The rooms and the villa are very well appointed and kept immaculate by the staff. Mosquitoes are a problem, but staff ignite an arsenal of mosquito coils at dusk - repellent is also readily available at every corner for you to apply liberally.

The villa is situated an easy 5 minute stroll to the beach; but the incline to the water is steep and that results in a very strong undertow. Coupled with the relative quiet and desolation - swimming for children and amateurs is not advised. The black sand beach is however, wonderful for a morning stroll and a brilliant place to build alternative colored sandcastles!

Food at the villa is charged at cost (ie you only pay for the produce purchased for cooking). This makes it a very attractive alternative to eating out. The chefs can (and do) produce a wide variety of cuisines but my advice is to speak to Wayan and the chefs to customize food for YOUR preferences and palate. The top hits were the barbecue dinner which we had as well as when we ordered off the menu on the last night. The "Cumi-cumi Bakar" (grilled calamari) and fried chicken drummets were the best I'd had anywhere! Their whole grilled fish a delight! Their spicy green papaya soup was divine - reminiscent of Soto or Bakso stock with significantly more sophistication. Mie Goreng was a miss, but Nasi goreng a tremendous hit! The kids loved their fish and chips but the pumpkin risotto was a lil' flat. it wasn't perfect, but good enough to keep us in for most of our meals.

Most importantly, would we come back?

Well, we're already planning our next visit.

Ditto to everything the other reviews said. But want to emphasise not only is the villa top quality, but it is desgined very friendly for families, and makes you feel you have your very own balinese village. The staff are EXCELLENT and felt apart of the family. I miss it and wish I was there again. Planning has begun for the next year. There are much cheaper villa's in Bali, but none that are this family friendly and with staff that are 110%.
Just wish the kids activities were included in the price.

We have stayed in kemmah Tinggi twice, once with friends all with small kids and then again with our extended family grandparents to kids - each stay was fantastic. The staff is wonderful, the food delicious and the villa itself very luxurious. SO nice to not have to pack toys, pool, stuff, etc. they had it all on site. Even DVD library. They arranged for a wonderful nanny so adults could go and shop and play. Enjoyed massages every day and even had a private yoga class in their small pavilion. We felt like it was our own wonderful home. The villa is a bit far out so trip into Seminyak takes 20+ minutes but car and driver provided so that makes a difference. We will stay here again.

The villa itself is stunning. Walking through the gates and it feels like you have just entered paradise. The facilities and amenities are great.

This was one of the most amazing holidays we have ever experienced. We went with 3 other families - in total 7 adults and 6 children. The villa and its staff enable you to have a relaxing, beautiful and easy time together. The staff are amazing expecially with the children who made the holiday relaxing and special for all of the adults. Not having to worry about the children or think about cooking made this the first real holiday we all had experienced in a while.

The villa is out of the hustle and bustle of Seminyak, so if you are looking for a relaxing holiday with family or friends this is the ideal location. However, if you ever want to go to a bar or exploring there is always a car and driver at your disposal.

Also, the food is amazing. Restaurant quality food utilising the freshest ingredients.

In summary, this was the most relaxing holiday we all had experienced and we never wanted to leave the villa. This is why we have already booked again for a return holiday next year.

We stayed at Kemah Tingii in January for six nights following the recommendation of a friend from Perth who had stayed there previously. Penny the owner was very responsive to our needs and the villa (as pictured) did not disappoint. We hadn't been to Canggu before but it was a pleasant surprise with cool restaurants, coffee and shops. While the in house catering at the villa was superb we ate at La Lucciola (upmarket in Seminyak), Bro Resto (in Canggu - cool and inexpensive) and Betelnut twice - excellent for a healthy lunch (and burgers!). Membership of the nearby Canggu club (gym, waterslides and pools) was an added bonus given the 4 young adults in our group of 6.
Thanks to the villa manager Wayan (who was outstanding), Komang, Sinta, Uluh and the team at the villa who were all fabulous.
The only minor downside is the local beach which is probably one to avoid. Echo Beach (a drive away) is better but only really for surfing.
I would thoroughly recommend Kemah Tinggi villa - 5 stars!

From the moment you are greeted by Wayan at the airport, you will experience the ultimate in relaxation. The villa is utterly breath-taking and every detail has been carefully thought through. For girls, there are amazing proper strength hair dryers and gorgeous Molten Brown products at your disposal; for blokes there are a multitude of sport and movie channels as well as an entire library of DVDs to choose from, and an abundance of entertaining toys are available for kiddies. The stunning pool offers a delightful change of temperature when the gorgeous Bali sun gets too much!
The staff are beyond brilliant, seemingly knowing you are thirsty even before you do and gliding in with trays of lattes or cold drinks of your choice. The chef has a wide menu selection and will cater for any special requests - the chocolate samosas and lemon mousse are particularly delicious!
Seminyak is only half an hour away, which is barely noticeable as the luxury of having a driver who waits for you more than makes up for the distance. Besides, you won't want to leave the villa anyway!
Kemah Tinggi is an experience of a lifetime; whether visiting with family or friends, it is simply perfect in every way!

We stayed in June 2015 with two families including three toddlers. Unlike most villas in Bali, this villa had a pool fence, high chairs, car seats, toys and was targeted to families with young children. It was also in a beautiful little village - Seseh which was away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta and Seminyak but within driving distance (about an hour because the traffic is pretty bad). The villa came with a vehicle and driver and 8 staff. The daily rate includes breakfast, the car, staff etc the extras were food at cost, drinks, petrol and nanny/babysitting services. The staff are absolutely lovely, our children all fell in love with Sinta and my daughter is still asking for her (and strawberry milkshakes). The villa is very well appointed, we had massages most days at sunset overlooking the rice fields, the beds were amazingly comfortable and everything that was promised by the owner was delivered. We had a couple of miscommunications once at the villa, but we put those down to the language barrier. We have been home for a couple of days now and what we are talking about most in the amazing food. The chefs were absolutely surperb and the food was immaculately prepared (no Bali belly for any of us) and absolutely delicious. We had plans to head out to restaurants but we only did that once and that was for the gorgous Tannah Lot Temple sunset dinner. We hired in a nanny a couple of times for our friends children and she was lovely, but mostly we used the holiday to spend time with our child, have a couple of rounds of golf, shop a little and relax. We also got membership to the Canguu Club included so we went to the Splash waterslide park a couple of times (about 20 minutes away) and the Bounce trampoline park. That was enough for the kids, they were pretty happyt at the villa. The pool is enormous and the kids loved the soccer pitch. This is at the higher end for cost for villas in Bali, but for us it was absolutely worth it. We were spoilt for 11 days, came home with all our clothes washed and ironed, we ate well, slept well and enjoyed 30 degrees every day away from the Melbourne winter. Mostly importantly we could focus on our daughter and really enjoy the quality time. Once at the villa, the biggest stress is what to order for dinner. Highly recommend this villa, especially if you have toddlers

We stayed at the house and cannot recommend it highly enough. It is particularly suitable for those with small children- everything is thought of- the pool is totally safe, they have a wonderful collection of toys and DVDs for the early morning start! The staff are fantastically helpful - nothing is too much hassle. The house is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. About 25 mins away from the main restaurant and bar scene where you are spoiled for choice. We had 3 families and 7 children under 6 with plenty of room! Fantastic.

"All rooms are lovely and each have their own special features - top pick is Sawah overlooking the rice fields, then Taman with it's own secluded garden - but you can't fault Desa - upstairs overlooking the fields out to sea with a balcony outdoor shower, or Umah. All beds are SUPER comfortable, there is plenty of room to put your clothes away, and all the bathrooms are gorgeous."
