We had booked this place well in advance and booked dinner in advance as well. We arrived to find the staff quite occupied with a large cooking class of perhaps 25 or 30 and stressed at having to find someone to check us in. The...More
We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The owner was wonderful. We requested dinner at the hotel 2 nights in a row and it was amazing. I would recommend eating here. The breakfast was okay. If you want espresso you need to request it....More
My husband and I were on a cycling holiday and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Sergio was a perfect host and organised a taxi to Erice for us, nothing was too much trouble. We loved the quiet surroundings and lovely pool. The wine...More
Even though this is a beautiful setting and the building has a lot of charm, we were very disappointed with this agriturismo. The pool IS beautiful and the backyard. However, we never saw the owners of this property. The moroccan couple that took care of...More
Baglio Fontana looks amazing on their website (dont they all), which is why we chose it. The town is very small, quiet, and a bit nondescript. The farmland surrounding the hotel is lovely though. Sadly, as soon as we went inside the reception building, all...More

You will need a car to get anywhere. It's not far at all to Erice which is definitely worth the visit - an old walled city with a big castle (bring a sweater as it's up high!). Great views if it's a clear day. The GPS did work, but it took us on a roundabout way to go. Do your homework and know the general direction of where you want to go so you can validate the GPS is sending you in the right direction.
The agriturismo itself is wonderful! You really can't go by reviews from 5 years ago. The amenities are modern (outlets, good showers, etc.). The bed wasn't the most comfortable but that was on par with most of the places we stayed in Sicily/Italy with hard beds. The hosts are wonderful people and there is great history with this agriturismo. Ask them to show you their "museaum". Also, we arranged for a cooking class while there and it was wonderful! The pool is really large and a great place to relax. High recommend this agriturismo!
