The location was perfect for us, a nice green to walk round. Sadly we didn't have time to look at Stansted Park. Maybe next time. The staff were helpful, we did change room because of the smell of paint but it was no trouble for the staff . Menu was comprehensive but a written menu on the table might be helpful, standing by the chalk board trying to chose, there was feeling that we could be in the way. Overall nice stay the owner was lively and friendly and spent time after a good breakfast going through his plans. See you soon

So today my husband decided to cycle from Fareham to Rowlands castle, with the Robin Hood being the incentive. My husband had never been and me not for many many years. We arrived as big hanging baskets and window boxes were being delivered. The front garden area was so inviting with each table having lovely mustard throws on 2/4 of the chairs. We were the only ones initially but soon a large group of ramblers appeared and a couple of men on lunch. So food first.... delicious! My husband chose the chicken tikka in granary bread with additional portions of chips 😋 Those were real chips, not fries! I chose a jacket with tuna and mayo. Big chunks of tuna with plenty of mayo. The salads that accompanied both were fresh and tasty. To start with Kelly (?) behind the bar was friendly,

What a fabulous place. Staff friendly and welcoming, quirky and full of smiles and banter which we love. The room exceeded expectations, lovely features, nicely decorated, thoughtful extras. A nice touch that the rooms were individually named. We stayed in Fleurie overlooking the green - beautiful. The meal in the delightfully decorated restaurant was very good indeed, and again the quirkiness of the place was evident in the light fittings and wall art. More reasons to make us smile. We were heartily congratulated on our engagement and were touched when complimentary pink fizz arrived at our table. David - you really put the cherry on the top of a special weekend with your warmth and wit. Thank you so very much - we will be back

Decided to pop in for a midweek meal. Staff were friendly and attentive, as always. I ordered a blue steak and my partner ordered one of her favourites, fish pie. When the food arrives the steak was accompanied by a really nicely presented salad but the fish pie arrived with the top burned to a cinder! The blowtorch must have been set to annihilate! My partner tried the pie, but found the burned top had tainted the whole pie. Ironically, my steak was a little undercooked on its surface and hadn’t browned. The burned fish pie went back to the kitchen, while I ate my steak alone! When a fresh pie arrived it was the opposite to the first, very white on top. My partner dug into this one to find a very watery, mushy filling. The only identifiable content were mussels! She ate as much

Really nice lunch out at a local pub in Rowlands Castle. I stumbled in after walking around Stansted park with my dog for a cheeky pint, and saw that they had a good moithers day offer of 3 courses plus flowers and goodie box for mothers for £25 per head. I booked there and then and to be honest it was very good. We were the first ones there. The service was fantastic, very attentive, and good family pub fare. Good price too. The goodie box was the icing on the cake and mum loved it - huge thank you. The only little things that would make it a 5 star rating, and these are easy to fix...little better presentation on some of the dishes perhaps? example, take the stalks out of the grapes when presenting a cheese board, or cut roughly same size of cheeses for the board. I had a
