If you want a quaint, comfortable, authentic Cornish pub with great staff and food, the Cornish Arms is the place. Feels like coming home to 'my local' even if you are only just visiting Cornwall for the first time!

The Cornish Arms is about 10 miles from Port Isaac. It is an older Cornish pub with charm and a friendly staff. The new publican is very friendly and takes an active interest in making sure everyone us looked after well. Lots of locals frequent the bar and dining area which is praise enough in itself. The rooms are clean,...

Stayed for 5 nights from 28 April. The Cornish Arms has got great charm, all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, with a good full English breakfast or cereal on offer to start the day off. Evening meals were perfect to come back to after a busy day and then relax in the bar. The...

Friendly staff and adequate meals. The only real issue is the noise from the bar which went on into the early hours. The rooms could have been cleaner. Parking is free and the location is good for local sightseeing.

Hi Ian Thanks for your review however I find it a little frustrating that you are reviewing a vist in July 2016 in April 2017. We bought the Cornish Arms at the beginning of April this year and are putting a lot of time and effort into bringing it to the standard our guests would expect. I can assure you...

Geoff and Karen literally took over the Cornish Arms a week ago (from our stay) and have already made their guests feel at home in their old hotel. They are learning the area as well as their new venture having moved from Oxfordshire. Friendly, efficient and professional, both the service and food were amazing. But that wasn't the main point....

My husband and I visited the Cornish Arms over a 2 week period in July.We were so pleased with the service...the meals and above all else the friendly atmosphere. Felicity... Vickie Gemma and Devon were so helpful to 2 slightly confused Canadians. We are planning on returning for our 50th anniversary in 2018...cannot wait !!!!!

We arrived here and was greeted with a very warm welcome from the management and staff who couldn't do enough for us. We checked in to a lovely big room with ensuite shower/toilet, both room and ensuite were very clean. The room had tea and coffee making facilities and a TV. The TV didn't work - which we didn't discover...

We had a nice time. Positives, free parking and friendly staff. Great location. Price quite good at £75 for two per night. Negatives, Corridor and room decoration a bit tired but bedding and En suite pretty good. Room clean and nice bedding. English breakfast was extra, £6.50 each but very nice.(continental free). Would visit again.

Definitely in need of TLC-curtains broken, toilet sounded like thunder when flushed, carpet tatty, smoke alarms were covered presumably for painting. Waited one and a quarter hours for meal and then the Lasagne had no garlic bread but was replaced by chips! I love dogs but owners dogs running loose and sitting at the tables put me off. On the plus...
