What a hidden gem. A little off the beaten track in the corner of a small industrial estate which initially made me worry about what we’d booked but what a revelation when we got in. This is a clean and neat hotel with great sized rooms, friendly staff and excellent breakfasts. Stand out features are very comfortable beds and pillows and Marjolein, a very recent addition to the hotel team, was good fun, informative and very efficient on front of house. This is a superb, value for money hotel with excellent tram and bus links to Amsterdam centre a few minutes away. I have no hesitation recommending it and will be staying again in the future.
The hotel in general is modern and clean. When we arrived we were told the hotel was being renovated and the kitchen was closed apart from breakfast, draft beer wasn`t available only expensive bottled beer. It is in the middle of a factory and buisness area, There are no bars or food outlets nearby. I feel the hotel management should have made some alternative food arrangements and possibly reduced the drink prices for residents. On the plus side there is a tram stop within a 5 min walk.
Loved the hotel and the service. The hotel offers breakfast only service no lunch or dinner so visitors have to arrange that themselves. Otherwise everything is 5* Loved the decoration and the fact that I could not hear anyone else from our bedroom
Great hotel, modern and clean. Staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. A little bit out of the way from Amsterdam but we were well aware of this before our stay. For 20 euros each we got a 3 day tram ticket. Tram stop just 5 minute walk away and they run every 10 minutes from early hours to late at night. Would definitely return again!
Didn’t expect the hotel to be in the middle of an industrial area with nothing around. When we arrived a girl that worked there really tried her best to assist us and check us in but we have never before had to wait for so long because she decided to let us wait and assist others with minor problems before us even though we where first in line. The room was nice but we didn’t like that we had to share a duvet and the pillows where old, you could feel the cotton turning into balls. Also the Tv turned itself on in the middle of the night two nights in a row which woke us up haha… we decided to unplug it after that.
First of all, there are innumerable 'Best Western' hotels. Secondly, even the 'Best Western Plus' hotels are many. All part of the same franchise ... I was informed by reception. But independently managed. I had just had a large chunk taken out of my day, probably delaying my eventual check in to a point where no sights could be seen today. Was it my fault, totally, I should have entered the whole address and not just the name. (Turned out I needed Best Western Amsterdam, where the third word is part of the name, not a location) Did I blame it on the hotel? No, although my feedback was defended so definitively that it seemed to have been taken as criticism. I merely suggested that if there were, two, three or even twenty hotels with similar names ... they should all print a line on booking confirmations: "Please note that there are many hotels with similar names, we are located at xyz strasse, near bla blah. Please ensure you search for the correct one. A small note about nearby tram or bus stops might also help. I got an abrupt contradictory set of responses: "We have nothing to do with the others!" Followed up with, "We have FIFTY Best Westerns!" Surely all the more reason to clarify? I do appreciate the fact that she printed out directions, but the print out was Dutch or German, I could understand nothing of it! Ultimately made it to the right hotel, sympathetic response, the feedback was taken positively, with appreciation for the concern. So glad this was the wrong hotel!??…
Staying in this wretched hotel in amstelveen. After 10 minutes in the room we saw what was either pubic hair or beard hair on the bed. We rang reception and they did move us. That was fine. Asked several people for some water to bring up to the room and they wouldnt give it to us, was told to drink the water in the bathroom? Never have I EVER stayed anywhere that wont give you water in a jug for your room. Was told either drink the bathroom water, or pay four euro for a bottle of water. Shocking. And we have to spend another 2 nights here.
Was a lovely new modern hotel, spacious rooms, comfiest beds , although a little outside of Amsterdam a GVB 3 or 4 day travel ticket can be bought for 30/40 euros which means unlimited travel on all buses trams and trains. Bus stop is a five minute walk with buses every 5 minutes into the late hours. Would 100% be back and have been recommending it to all friends and family. Me and my partner loved our stay and the hotel added a personal touch into the room on arrival in regards to my boyfriends birthday.
The BW Plus is a modern, well-equipt hotel located in a business park outside of Amstelveen. It is quite inconvenient for tourists to downtown Amsterdam. The tie in with the regional transport system is a bit far from the hotel, so it would be recommended that a taxi be used. This reviewer used a dedicated taxi for every transit, whether it was to the city center or nearby Schipol Airport. Taxi prices in Amsterdam are a bit high in this reviewer's eyes. The rooms are clean, the staff courteous and friendly. There is a good restaurant, though it seems to have limited hours during the weekends. The latest information has it that an underground parking lot is being prepared. In a sentence, the prices are extremely competitive, the access could be better.
Lovely. , very clean , very helpful polite staff , generous portions of food from the restaurant,, local transport into Amsterdam really easy to use ,, but you will need the red travel card which can be bought at the air port for €36.50 for 3 days ,, taxi to the hotel is best cost €40 , more then worth it if you haven’t been before takes 15 mins ,,
