The service apartments is situated at Amstelveen district which is at the south of Amsterdam. You may reach from the airport or the city center easily with the public transport. The check in and out speed is efficient and the staff are friendly to help you with all matters. The rooms are big, clean, well equipped with all the things you need for a short and long stay with the family. Free Wi-Fi increases your satisfaction. You either cook in the room or use the facility in the hotel. The menu meets the needs. There is a small supermarket in the hotel for your urgent needs. The rooms are cleaned weekly and towels & garbage could be collected upon request daily. As the hotel is close to the shopping mall, you can make all your shopping easily. I suggest for all occasions.
We stayed for a week in June. We were coming to Amsterdam for a celebration of life, and to enjoy the city. The hotel was extremely clean, beds were comfortable. The bath was large and nice. The shower was fine except water leaks out all over the floor when you shower. We had four rooms at the hotel and all of us had that problem, but that’s also very common in Euro hotels and even homes. You can see the hotel from the tram station… very quick walk. The Albert Heijn grocery store is in the bottom level of a mall close by. Make sure to have Euros because they don’t take cards at Albert Heijn. The tram ride to the city is about 25 mins. We always got off at the Museumplain or Leidseplein stops. Leidseplein gets you right into Amsterdam-right by the canals. An Uber ride is faster… about 15 mins. The cappuccinos at the hotel are made quick and we enjoyed them each morning. My parents liked the breakfast each day, but we ate in our rooms with groceries we got from the store. (We were in an apartment with fridge and stove etc). The pullout bed was used by my son and was about as comfy as a pullout bed can be. The hotel restaurant is ok. Not super kid friendly food, but the environment is fine for kids. It’s pretty expensive, though. Hotel staff is very friendly, helpful, and everyone spoke great English. You have to put a tag on your door to get your room serviced and then they will give you clean towels and take out trash. They won’t clean the room until you leave, just be aware. That’s pretty typical for the area though. Overall, would highly recommend if you want to save a little but still be close to Amsterdam. I’d stay here again. I’d also like to stay IN Amsterdam at some point, but this was a really nice place.…
Large comfortable 1 bedroom suite is great for couples or small family with 1-2 young kids. Great kitchenette with all equipment you need (including excellent washer/dryer and combi oven/microwave). Central location in Amstelveen near stadshart with many shops and restaurants. Very attentive service with a smile. Nice gym and other facilities too.
My favorite hotel in Amstelveen. Always clean , great amenities. A home away from home. Love the private sauna at no extra cost. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Close to Amstelveen shopping center and Amsterdam. Affordable luxury.
We loved our three week stay at Cityden The Garden. We were very busy every day and the staff took care of us very well. I have to shoot out especially to Sebastian who helped us with any little thing that came up. Our television went out one day and he was on it immediately and didn't quit until he had solved it. We would definitely stay there again!
This hotel and especially the staff working in it have really dissapointed our family. We are travelling a lot to different countries and, it is a must to say, that our experience in the Cityden The Garden hotel is one of the worst ones. To begin with the environment, the interior of the hotel is beautiful and tastes good, but it all fades in front of the dirt that is felt as soon as you enter the hotel: all the corridors seem to be uncleaned for months - the carpet is covered in dirt and dust, again, the room can be found a lot of dust and hair, and the towels were covered with dark spots. Even the menu in the restaurant was sloppy and sticky. The room (we were in a one-bedroom apartment) is nicely furnished, although, not to mention the dirt, we missed the bathrobes and slippers, as well as the filled minibar, which I think is mandatory in a hotel of this range (4 *). We lived on the ground floor, our room had a door to the terrace, but they were locked with a key that was not given to us. Even the air conditioning system, which could have saved us from the constant stuffiness of the air shortage, was blocked and inoperative. As for the staff, our first bad experience happened at the time of check-in: a girl working at the reception tried to convince us that breakfast, which had already been covered before, had to be paid plus € 150. She tried to argue that maybe the days changed or even the price suddenly got higher under some circumstances! We were lucky to have a screenshot proving the price of the room booked with breakfast. The last moment was quite shocking, because it could affect our journey back to home really bad: the evening before our check out we we agreed with the guy who worked at the reception that we would be called by a taxi at the agreed time in the morning to take us to the airport, in the morning it turned out that the car had not been called and a new order had been placed again, but again this time unsuccessfully - the car again failed to arrive under some circumstances, anyway, from the third time the machine arrived, thanks for that. As for the location of the hotel, it is really far from Amsterdam city center, it is nothing terrible, but it should be noted that it takes about 40 minutes to reach Amsterdam from the hotel. And that way a lot of time is wasted. I am very sad that I had to write this unpleasant review, in fact, I have never written any bad reviews before. Still, this time I was extremely unpleasantly surprised by the moments I mentioned earlier. I think if a hotel is 4 * (which is almost a luxury class), guests should be served at the highest level.…
My first impression of the employees is that as of they really do not care about hospitality. The contact at the reception was for me very unprofessional and very cold. Rooms are ok but then the hygiene is below level. Bathroom with shower with no soap, not enough towels and dirty edges everywhere. Bad communication allround. It is far from being a 4 star hotel.
Disappointing. We stayed at this hotel for a businessmeeting in Amstelveen. After arriving at 16.30 two room still weren’t cleaned. So my colleagues left their stuff at my room. When we got back my colleagues received their keys but they didn’t work ;). I had only small feet towel in my room. Nothing more the rest of the colleagues had handtowels in a closet but i didn’t. What to say more…. The breakfast was till 10.30 but at ca 8.15 cheese and scrambled eggs were “solled out”. No cheese was available anymore. This is a basic item!!!! For paying 126 euro’s a night this hotel was dissapointing! But to be honoust….if this hotel is more organised and everything is ok than it is a 5 star hotel. For now it is a 2 star hotel
What I have to say about Cityden the Garden ? Everything on the hotel was very good. The staff on the desk was very helpful and warmful in every aspect since the arrival, to the exit. The restaurant was magnificent, thanks to chef and he's amazing dishes. The rooms are very comfortable and nice. The hotel is very well situated and very in adcount. If you want to spend a very good holidays, Cityden The Garden is a very good choice.
