Made a last-minute reservation yesterday evening and only needed a place to stay for the night. The cafe was pretty crowded when I entered and was helped by one of the employees on a pleasant way. Got room 9 on the 2nd floor. The room was very simple and did not have a personal toilet to use. In stead I could make use of the public toilet which was outdated but maintained and looked hygienic. Due to the checkout date I could not make use of the breakfast. Employees and environment were nice and the location is very close to the Olympic Stadium. Long story short: good simple place to stay for the night with good public connections for €53 for one person and free parking. Would go back again.
Surprisingly modern inside, clean, renovated. Pretty decent alternative not extremely far from Amsterdam and good if you're for work in Amsterdam South. Hotel has a restaurant but I didn't try the food. Negative point is that the hotel has very heavy doors and the noise with every guest that wakes up in the morning and leaves the place is ridiculous. Doors slam every 5 minutes. Wifi doesn't reach too far. Some rooms have no wifi.
Staff was friendly and a'la carte food in the restaurant was good but this place need a big renovation. Rooms have seen their best days a long time ago and breakfast could be better with some fresh vegetables and fruits.
The 6 of us stayed there for 5 nights, 3 seperate bedrooms. The rooms are ok I guess, pillows and sheets included, every room had a sink and a closet for jackets, altough in one of the rooms the closet couldn't be opened. Fresh towels were brought in every day. The first floor we stayed on only had 2 showers. The main problem was getting a good nights sleep. Especially on weekend nights. The music in the bar below was very loud at night and could be clearly heard in each of our rooms. Locals partied all night long. One night I came down and asked the bartenders to please turn it down. Their response was "You'll just have to take it a little longer, we close in about an hour." So it didn't stop until 3 in the morning. Breakfast was ok and we could eat as much as we wanted to prepare ourselves for a long day. We didn't eat anything except breakfast but the prices of drinks can be comparable to the prices in Amsterdam city center, which is not something you look forward to. The hotel staff were really nice. …
Staff very friendly. Food great. Also, quite close to the airport, but a bit of a distance to city centre, but there is transport. Rooms have no AC, and no on-suites, so you have to traipse to the loo in your pyjamas at 2am past other rooms if you have to go. They could knock a few rooms down and add a bathroom to each bedroom. Shower rooms tiny (two showers for ten rooms!!) Noisy at weekends! It’s basically a few rooms over a bar, so if you want something cheap and cheerful in Amsterdam, this is it!
This hotel was about a 20 min walk from our hotel in the suburb of Amstelveen and what a find it was. It is a hotel but we visited the restaurant and bar for dinner and our group of 8 requested an outdoor table. We were asked if we would like a drink until a table for 8 could be accommodated and entered the indoor area which is split between the bar, full of old memorabilia and a fairly basic dining area. The place was full of local people rather than tourists and had a really authentic Dutch atmosphere. The staff were excellent and after a quick beer we were shown to our table. After the sun went down the temperature cooled but a large canopy was opened above our table complete with built in heater. Salad and bread with garlic butter were served whilst we waited for our main course, no starter ordered. The main recommended dishes for this place are ribs and steaks. The ribs which come in various sauces are huge and unlimited so if you eat what is served you can order more!!!! Half our group enjoyed the ribs whilst the other half opted for their house specialty dish of Tournedos Bali Steak which is basically a fillet steak cooked in a hot spicy sauce and served with chips (french fries). The steak was to die for and an excellent choice. This is a great place to visit to enjoy a real Dutch atmosphere and the ambience of place was terrific.........an escape from the madhouse city centre and its thousands of tourists. Our meal worked out at €35 per person for a pre dinner beer, the food and two glasses of wine each with the meal. If you are in this area it is a must visit spot for either a beer in the bar or a meal.…
Stayed here for 2 nights, great bar, real nice Dutch local experience, very helpful/friendly staff,Jan was a great guy, basic room but clean, great breakfast...nice to come here for a few beers after a day strolling around the city..nice walk to the team into the city..Amstelveen is not Amsterdam so people leaving feedback saying it's not in Amsterdam.. obviously...do your research..I will quite happily and will stay here again..can't fault it!!
Very clean and spacious room, worth paying the little extra for your own bathroom. Was there for 4 nights and the room was cleaned twice with fresh towels each time. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere in the hotel bar. 20-30 minute bus journey into Amsterdam centre.
There is nothing ecstatic to be said about this hotel. Ok staff and brakfast and that's about all.... There is nothing ecstatic to be said about this hotel. Ok staff and brakfast and that's about all.... Well, this is a place just " good "for one night stay. We had a basic room which was 110 % basic. Small room, not very clean but this might be felt due to very old, footworn and splotchy carpet. There is nothing ecstatic to be said about this hotel. Ok staff and brakfast and that's about all.... Avoid to get a room in the first floor as my friends were complyining about the noise till late night.
