We are a local family who needed to move out of our house whilst the central heating system was replaced. We wanted to be close by to oversee the work so the Black Bull was ideal. We haven't frequented the bar or restaurant for some time but it is under new management and I am familiar with a sister pub...

Came here for a drink, bar staff were lovely and friendly. There was nice music in the background and it was a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back here again. The toilets were also exceptionally clean which for a pub I was very impressed about haha! :)

We booked this overnighter to break the journey to France. The room was compact, clean and the bed comfortable. Not sure about the breakfast. " continental" amounted to a DIY out of the fridge in the morning. Very basic and quite disappointing. A cold plastic croissant and a yoghurt was the highlight.

Stayed here for 1 night in room 5 & ate dinner here too. We arrived early but the helpful staff let us check in early. The food (fish from the specials board) & lamb pie (starters & desserts) was all delicious. There were 3 beers on tap & we opted for the Martsons Black Bull which didn't disappoint. Service was...

Disappointed by our stay during the past heatwave. Room 3 has a green light inside the room that you can not turn off. You can not hear the bar from the room. But all in all not a good stay, I did email before we arrived about breakfast but did not get a reply, the option is in the fridge...

Had a quick stop for a pint and something to eat and we're lucky to stop on an evening when they were hosting a festival. Live music, Theakstons Black Bull and a fantastic bbq - perfect! The staff were friendly and helped make our brief stop even more enjoyable. Would definitely return

Upon arrival we were told that we had not booked, so our family of 8 were left standing in the busy restaurant whilst they sorted out their mistake. We then had to wait ages for a table, as they obviously weren't expecting us. The roast dinner was mediocre. The vegetables were overcooked as the broccoli was falling apart and the...
