I would recommend The Cliff Lipe Resort. With stunning views, great service and lot more!! The sand is so white and the sea is so clear. You can probably find Nemo fish just 10 meters from the beach. There are no over charge for snacks, soft drinks and beer no need to buy them from convenience store. We had so much good time. Definately come back here.

This has to be just about the finest location for chilled out romantic beach life! No children due to the steps but I struggle due to many motorcycle crashes but it was doable!! The snorkelling of the beach is as good as Koh Tao back in the day and with the addition of free kayaks and a stocked staffed bar WOW!! It has a private beach and the sea is gently lit at night so you can have it to yourself!! Although just adults it’s not full of newly married couples so has a healthy atmosphere! Staff of great note were Ten and Charlie who warmed to us and treated us so well even upgrading us into a beach view suite which was unbelievable. Nat and Jon were cool as well!! I’ve read some perplexing reviews on this site and so am confused as to why they had a sketchy time, perhaps unfriendly and arrogant (really doesn’t work in Thailand!!)
Had a picnic on the beach and even at sunset the only people were us.. pad Thai and pinacolada!! There is a free tuk tuk to walking street each night which is great fun with the sights and smells! 100 baht for 2 is standard for all over the island so no bartering required!! You will see us again one day!! PERFECT

The Cliff Lipe is a beautiful hotel on koh lipe Island. The staff were all great as well.

The cliff is situated on Sunset Beach. The sunsets here are spectacular.

We had 2 rooms in our stay. A 2 bedroom with pool and a jacuzzi suite. Both rooms were great. As with all beds we stayed on in thailand, the beds were very firm. One thing to keep in mind is that on koh lipe it's common to have restrooms outside. The restrooms here are indoors but open so critters so we did encounter ants and spiders. The 2 bed has wood slats for walls and the jacuzzi suite had an open window to a garden.

The restaurant has a good menu with good food options and breakfast was included with the stay. If you're not staying at the resort, I'd still recommend a dinner on the beautiful deck for a sunset.

Laundry service was inexpensive and superb.

They have a plethora of free things to use on the beach. Kayaks, clear bottom boats, snorkeling equipment etc.

It's about a 5-10 minute walk to pattaya beach. Maybe another 3-5 minutes to walking street. Taxis are 50 baht per person. We used a mix of walking and taxi.

Overall this stay was pleasant and I would definitely recommend the views whether you're staying or just having dinner. I wouldn't call it the best hotel or the cheapest hotel in the island, but I'd definitely return

My wife and i stayed at The Cliff Resort during March 2020. We have stayed at this Resort before two other times.
Check in was adverage even though we are a couple returning for the 3rd time. Our deluxe room which we have stayed before is getting dated. You can only use half the bathroom as the other half of the bathroom has no floor boards. There are no televisions in any rooms at the Cliff.
Staff are very very friendly and breakfast is really good. There is no common swimming pool but the private beach is awesome. Charlie the head concierge is amazing. He is always helpful and always looking after the guest.
The Cliff is a nice Resort which offers a great beach and awesome views but you will have to pay 100 baht to get back to the Resort or walk and book to get a lift to the main attractions.
Price was expensive for what we got!

Very rarely am I a writer of bad reviews but this one is a necessity for other travelers. My girl friend and I just came from a camping trip so we are very accustomed to bugs and the roughing it lifestyle but this hotel was absolutely horrendous. We checked in to The Cliff Lipe for a 4 night stay, dropped our bags to the room and went to the town for lunch. Coming back to the room we found cock roaches all over the bathroom, in our bed, in our luggage and more coming in under the massive gap in the door. Also there was a dead one behind the toilet and what looks like cock roach feces. After that we examined the room more closely and found hair and dirt on the floor other types of bugs, mold in the bathroom downright gross conditions. It was worse than some hostels i've stayed in backpacking. It really sucks because we were excited to stay here, to the resorts credit it is a beautiful setting and ocean view, we were beyond bummed out. BUT IT GETS WORSE... hotel would not refund us for our stay, we hadn't even made it through the first night. Most disappointing hotel experience i've ever encountered. Will be disputing the charge with my credit card company. The manager Charlie was extremely annoying & rude and kept trying to show us another room even after we told him 15 times we leaving and staying elsewhere. Literally had to yell at him to stop talking and return our security deposit. Been traveling avidly for 15 years and never experienced anything like this. Normally a hotel would be more than happy to refund you especially if your room is infested with roaches. negative 4 stars for these goons. On a better note moved over to the Idyllic Resort , clean, comfortable and nice staff.

The Cliff is probably the best hotel I have been to. I stayed with my boyfriend for a few days. It has the most incredible, luxurious rooms and most rooms come with a beautiful view of the turquoise sea.

The Cliff has its own stunning private beach, so it’s very quiet and peaceful - you can hear the waves so nicely as you read a book or just sunbathe. You can also snorkel and canoe for free which I thought was a great bonus!

To top off this fantastic hotel, it has very welcoming and friendly staff who are always there to help.

The food at this hotel is great with a variety of options and the smoothies are amazing!

I highly recommend staying here!

The location of this property is fantastic with views out over the bay and a lovely private beach. You can snorkel, paddle board and kayak all from the property. The rooms are good, WiFi wasn’t great in our room and like in many places in Thailand they don’t have international plugs which would be a plus.

Breakfast was poor over all considering the price point of the hotel. Over all the staff were friendly but the level of English was limited and there seemed to be a lack of any kind of management at the property. Again for the price of the rooms you would expect better customer service. The best member of staff was the life guard on the beach and helping with water sports.

Would stay again but would expect service improvements.

This hotel truly surpassed all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warm, genuine hospitality. Every staff member was incredibly attentive, making sure every detail was perfect throughout my stay. This felt just like home.

The room was super clean and equipped with all the amenities I needed. The view from my room was absolutely breathtaking, giving a true sense of serenity.

Breakfast was fantastic, with a wide variety of fresh, delicious options. Dining at the Season Restaurant is a must try , such a scenic spot, and the pasta was amazing.

The hotel also has a private beach with a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. It really gave me the chance to fully rest and recharge.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Lipe, I highly recommend this hotel. Totally worth it, genuinely impressed! And thank you to all the wonderful staffs for making my stay so memorable.

This is our first time here in Koh Lipe and a trip for our Anniversary. The hotel located at Sunset Beach and offer a private beach with free water activities for the guests. The staff are warm welcome, friendly and very accommodating. The food at Seasons Restaurant is good! Normally I’m a bit skeptical with hotel food. For the breakfast they have selection menu made to order to choose. Knowing we’re a muslim couple, the staff (sorry I can’t remember the name) will check and advise which menu we could eat. Thank you for being very thoughtful, we really appreciate it. Room is neat and clean. First night we booked deluxe garden and they decor the room with anniversary decor to surprise my husband. He love it! Next day, we upgraded ourself to pool villa and the view is stunning!! Such an unforgettable experience. We could see a blue crystal clear water straight from our balcony and the view so pleasing. The hotel provided a daily shuttle at 8.00 pm from the hotel to walking street. To move around in the island area, you’ll need a taxi/tuktuk which cost 50 baht/person. Overall we really recommended this hotel and definitely will come back!

We stayed at this resort for a week in Nov 2024 having booked through Agoda. This resort is located in the North West of Lipe Island in a remote quiet area although only 5 mins by motorbike taxi to walking street. The staff at the hotel are lovely and go out of their way to help you with anything.
We booked the jacuzzi suite room with Ocean View which is spread over 2 levels. The room was similar to balanese style with part of the roof in the toilet open to the elements, needless to say, an open invitation for the many mosquitoes we had to deal with!.
The view from the room was lovely, if only the weather had been better.
The jacuzzi in the room is old fashioned, and has to be filled and emptied everyday, but the hot water system is not really sufficient to give you a hot jacuzzi and was merely luke warm. The hotel charge you 280 Thai Bhat to fill it for you with candles all round or you can buy your own bath bombs and fill it yourself.
The beach at the resort is small and immediate entry area to the sea is rocky, so you really need water shoes to enter the water. The bigger beaches on the island are much better, but beach at this resort is good for snorkeling. Breakfast at the resort was adequate but there is much better to be has elsewhere. Somedays they did not have items on the menu, which I felt was poor.
There are many stairs to rooms, reception and restaurant at this resort which are slippy and dangerous when wet, and due to these factors, this resort is absolutely unsuitable for people with mobility problems.
We asked to check out early due to severe rain when we stayed, however the hotel refused to give us any refund, which left is having to stay in our room most of the day. Due to the high price we paid for the room, we were disgusted by this response.
Overall, we felt that this resort was not good value for money and their attitude to our request to move on was shocking, technically forcing use to endure a week of severe rain.
For these reasons, we will never use this resort again.

Hi there, sorry for delay. The site to look at is 12goasia. This covers ferries which actually looks quicker. We used Satun Pakbara speedboat as we wanted quickest option from Lipe to Railay. See below name of company: Satun Pakbara Speedboats Use their help line - I emailed lots and they were very helpful. Make sure you check the days and times as lipe often only has 1 transfer a week. Hope this helps x

There are not many steps down to the beach but I do not recommend to go to the private beach anyway because it is not very good.
