We stayed there for some nights. The hotel ist located in the second row away from the beach, but just a short walk to the beach. The Earthquake destroyed a lot but all the people were really welcoming. And we felt save. The owner of the hotel was a really proud of his hotel and renovated most of it by...

I had a super week in Hostal Rutamar, working with Javier, the owner and manager, on his electrical installation, in exchange for housing (volontary worker). Hostal Rutamar is a fantastic wooden 3 level hostel, hand made by Javier, and solar panels powered. It is mostly quiet, because not on the beach front, even though you don't get the view you...

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Rutamar in February for 5 nights. It was an awesome hostel and I would highly recommend. Some of the things we loved about it were: a fan in the room, the room was cleaned every other day (and they did a great job cleaning), free drinking water, ice cold beers for $2, a...

My wife and I stayed here for 6 days and 5 nights. We booked a private room with double-bed, private shower, private toilet, and fan. The room was basic, but comfortable. Our room was on the second floor for two nights, and then Javier (the host and owner) moved us to the third floor which is a lot cooler since...

My girlfriend loved this place on first sight. Beautiful wood design, very tropical and ecological looking. It looks like you're going into a giant tree. Other pluses: soft towels, and the owner, Javier, speaks good English; he allowed our car inside overnight for safety. Because there is no A/C, we chose a room on the ground floor, thinking it would...

Nice place with a very friendly owner. Xavier did a nice job with this place, nice wooden touches on the railings, nice rooms. It is about two blocks from the beach so you don't get the cool breeze and there is no air conditioning. There is a communal kitchen and a nice place to hang out. There is a roof...

We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. There were a couple of things that we didnt like though: First: when we arrived they put us in the worst room they had (ground floor, loads of mosquitos) although we had booked one on 2nd floor! The bed linen was disgustingly dirty and first he told us that this...

We stayed here on 19th January for 3 nights and we were so sad to leave. The hotel is a work of art and Javier has thought carefully about making each room comfortable with everything you need. We loved all the communal areas with hammocks and deckchairs spread around so you can feel free to chat with others or just...
