If you want a Ryokan with a stunning a drop of the mountain ranges and an enchanting garden to stroll in , this is it ! What's more, there are two private onsens that you can book to use for free but it is on a first come first serve basis. I think this is the area they could improve...

We stayed at Baien for 2 nights during our recent visit in Kyushu. We had Japanese-style house annex which included a Japanese-style sitting area, a bedroom area with 2 twin beds, and a washroom with wash basin and separate toilet compartment but no bathtub or shower, but it was not a problem as we enjoyed the beautiful public onsen as...

The location of this ryokan deserves a 5 quote. As does the friendliness of the staff. The experience as a whole however did not meet my expectations, nor my previous experiences during visits to other places. First this is a newly built hotel, lacking history and veracity. It is run by staff, we did not meet or see a person...

If you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, then you must spend a few days here. Definitely upgrade to a private room so you can enjoy a private hot spring. The room is very nice. The food is incredible and the service outstanding.

We chose Baien as a highlighted stay for our KYUSHU trip back home country Japan. We are glad we made an excellent choice. From the moment you enter, you can feel Japanese Omotenashi "courtesy hospitality." Beautiful garden, heavenly spa Onsen, delicious food, great original cocktail at bar Enji, awesome staffs and...what more do you expect? If you are travelling Kyushu...

Excellent! Everything was clean, very cozy yet spacious. Amazing service from the staffs (carried the entire luggage of ours all the way to the room). We booked for an annex room (w/o private onsen bath) for one night. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the family bath was under the maintenance and was not able to use it. As an apology, the...

This review is mostly for non-japanese speakers. My wife and I spent one night at Baien ryoken in April. It was booked on their website by my step daughter who speaks japanese, which made it easier to book. The website has limited english although google translate helps, and I am sure that they can correspond in engish via email or...

My wife and I stayed here one night and feel it was the most exclusive and customer oriented place we have stayed. The hotel is close to the base of the mountains, tucked against the forest and was very quiet and relaxing. We stayed in one of the separate three-room cottages with private hot spring which far surpassed our expectations...

Building: As I said in the title, this is traditional Japanese-style but not old. Its cleanness and excellent hotel facilities make you comfortable. Shop: This has a gift shop. There are many kinds of Yufuin and traditional Japanese souvenirs. Room: large and neat. Its welcome confectionery is delicious! Bath: So nice! I could see Mt. Yufu from the open-air bath...

Rent a small house there with private bath. Enjoy the relaxing stay. Enjoy the delicious food. Enjoy the nature. Enjoy the very delightfull service. And of course bath in hot spring water. Explore the place to try different bath. Japan at its very best. I wish I could forget the place myself and try it again "for the first time".
