I love this hotel, a traditional hotel with roomy guest rooms. They have no heated tatamis, but worry not as you'll can hug those hot stone while sleeping. You should order breakfast or dinner which was cooked in Miyazu style and tastes great! It is a little bit on the sweet side rather than savoury like most Jjapanese cuisine. However...

We absolutely stumbled upon this place...only because I was an ignoramus and thought Kyoto Prefecture meant Kyoto city. But I am so glad that we did! Miyazu 2 hours from Kyoto and not easy to get to but it is worth a visit to Amanohashidate. About Seikiro, here are some pros and cons: Pros: - It has the most wonderful...

Cant find any reasonably priced good hotels in Amanohashidate. Location of this hotel is only 10 minutes bus ride from Amanohashidate and also offers an opportunity to tour city of Miyazu before going to the next destination. Hotel is 2 minutes walk from the bus stop coming from Amanohashidate. Booked rooms with private bath. The rooms upstairs are fine (booked...

Stayed here with my wife and I for three nights. Found the room to be very large for Japan and contained all that was needed. It was clean and had a great view over the ocean. Close to a large department store that was very handy. Also not too far from the train station which had some good restaurants nearby....

I got a very nice clean Japanese room with wonderful view of the sleeping Dragon (Amanohashidate)! This is a Japanese style room you are sleeping on a tatami mat. Room has TV and WIFI! The room had toilette but shower was a communal bathing area on the first floor. I did not eat at this ryakon so I am not...

We chose this hotel for the historical element. Steeped in history and an amazing patron, who was very kind and hospitable. The room was amazing, you stepped back in time, I felt like it was a film set. The beds are very thin futons and be warned, not at all comfortable. At best I would recommend one night. The area...

This is an old Ryokan and everything looks a little old and used, but we thought that was marvelous and embraced the fact that it dates back over 300 years. The owner Mr. Tokuda showed us around the ryokan and museum on arrival. He was very helpful and spoke good English. He gave us extra futon mattresses as I had...

There were some very nice things here: -free parking -helpful reception, all the information about Miyazu -great museum and introduction to history -big room with great garden view -very good breakfast However, we were not happy with onsen (limited times, not family option, not any other possibility to wash oneself). Also toilets were rather outdated, and mens room was smelly....

We stayed in this ryokan for one night. The owner gave us a tour of the museum part of the ryokan, telling us about its' history and explaining meaning of wall paintings. We enjoyed onsen in the evening and traditional Japanese breakfast next morning. Linens were new and futons comfortable. The ryokan is a well maintained old house and it...
